I had the pleasure of meeting Corbett Harris in Lynchburg, Va last night at a Chamber of Commerce function. He is a former App State O line, and played on two of the three national championship teams. He owns a Jimmy Johns franchise and he is a proud son of Appalachian State. It was a privilege to meet him and he had many kind words about Coach Jerry Moore and the staff during his time there. He spoke about how the injuries had slowed him down and that Coach Moore told him that they would honor his scholarship and make sure he received his degree.
I appreciated his time and listening. This is why being a fan of the program is important to me, App State is different from other places. It is special, to someone who is not a graduate.
Thanks for letting me share this with you.

I never tire of hearing stories like this and I personally witnessed many other stories similar to this while a student at Appalachian. Appalachian is not just a university or campus ; it is a way of life ! I have yet to see another school that can match our passion, or compassion.

Corbett was my college roommate. He texted me since we both are from and live in VA, and asked if I wanted to move to Lynchburg to be a store manager. I told him financially it's not the best move for me but definitely let him know I was happy to see him making moves in life.
