Peach bowl 2016
Peach bowl 2016
So I think for 2016 the Peach bowl will still have the top group of 5 team. If I'm correct about that, would our 2016 schedule give us even a chance at getting in the Peach bowl? I was just thinking that having Tennessee and Miami on the schedule could give us a chance. Of course we would have to win at least one of those two games and be competitive in the other.

Re: Peach bowl 2016
Not just a chance with that schedule. 12-0 with that schedule would be difficult for ANY G5 to top. 11-1 and we would likely need some luck (favorites losing their CCGs, etc.).

Re: Peach bowl 2016
A lot needs to happen for that to occur. We'd basically have to go 12-0 IMO. A two loss top G5 team (AAC or C-USA) would get the bid over a 1 loss SunBelt team. Simply because conference schedule would be tougher for them. Unless the Sun Belt makes some noise OOC as a whole conference. Not just us beating Tennessee and or Miami. Also, the Miami and Tennessee teams we face will have to have better years than this year and compete in their respective conferences.

It's all dependent on how other schools seasons shake out of course, but 10-2 with close losses to UT and UM is the worst we could do to be in that conversation.

No way a two loss CUSA team gets in. They're in the exact same boat as us where you need to go undefeated to even be in the conversation./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:A lot needs to happen for that to occur. You're right. Forgot Memphis wasn't C-USA anymore. That's who I was basically basing that point towards.BurlingtonApp wrote:No way a two loss CUSA team gets in. I was making the same points last year. However Wyoming and ODU were disappointing and we lost to stAte. If we win that game, we're still behind Houston, but were in the conversation.
It's fun to dream.

A 10-2 record for the Apps in '16 is sorta like trying to hit a small, moving target that's 200 yards away. We've got a bunch of holes to fill on both sides of the line and on special teams. Even if we have redshirts that are ready to step in; they'll do so without ever having played a snap of college football. I believe we have the talent at most positions to eventually offset our losses; but the youngsters in the mix will make some mistakes until they get four or five games under their belts.

Re: Peach bowl 2016
Tennessee has been on the upswing so a loss there I don't think would be unfogivable. However we'd need to run the table and take out Miami for any sort of consideration...and more than likely run the table with the conference as well...with, if I am assuming that stAte isn't on the schedule and Tx State and NMSU are, shouldn't be that tall of an order.

And it's not like we have a bunch of cupcakes to start the season for them to hone their skills. We can be very good next year but we need to be realistic in our expectations.asu66 wrote:A 10-2 record for the Apps in '16 is sorta like trying to hit a small, moving target that's 200 yards away. Keep in mind Miami has 17 starters returning next year.hotrod2001 wrote:Tennessee has been on the upswing so a loss there I don't think would be unfogivable. And a new coach who will probably go to a Pro-Style offense which fits Kaaya skills set better.hapapp wrote:Keep in mind Miami has 17 starters returning next year.hotrod2001 wrote:Tennessee has been on the upswing so a loss there I don't think would be unfogivable. Re: Peach bowl 2016
Don't get me wrong, if it happened that would be great but I really don't want to play in that giant stadium. Atlanta however, would be really great. We could put 25,000 fans in the seats at the Peach Bowl. I wasn't really asking if you guys thought we could do it, just if you thought the strength of schedule would support the at large G5 bid.
