One long term positive I think we will realize from playing Thursday night games is an increase in student participation.

The students were out in full force last night. They overflowed their typical sections and were spilling into section 112 on the east side last night. They were having fun. Yes, many left at the half, but many more stayed. I think we will see student attendance on Saturdays go up in the short term and in the long term we will build a larger fan base as those students graduate. I think many of the students who would often leave for the weekend attended the Thursday game since they were here and some of them are bound to have had enough fun to stick around on Saturday in the future.

yeah Thursday/Friday night games are definitely good for students. They have nothing else going on that early in the night, so a football game is a good excuse to party and go out.

Our best attended game in history so far was our Friday night game against FAU. Students showed up in force despite it being rainy and attendance was 17,444.

Kinda sucks for non-students, but at least Thursday night games are on Thursdays because the games are on television, so the people that can't make it can still watch.

Another good thing about being on TV on a Thursday night is how the heck else would the rest of the country know we got 3 misconducts in one game.
Now with that said. Thursday is great for the students and that is a good thing.
No college game should be played on a Friday night though when high schools are still playing.
