This board has gotten about as bad as the late arriving, quiet during, and early departing fans at KBS. What gives? No game thread? No excitement? No passion? Not even much pissin' and moanin'?
I am disappoint.

There was an in-game chat going on. With a chat option there is not much need for a game thread.

Eh, it's still something for those of us at the game to read back at home. Plenty of other fan boards manage to have chats and 20+ page long game threads as did the old board. Ah well..

When I'm at a game, I don't spend time during the game doing anything other than watching the game. I enjoy chatting after the game on various aspects of the game but refuse to be fiddling with my phone when I should be cheering. That's not wine and cheese. That's football.

And you stay to the end regardless. Wish I could clone another 10,000 of you for game days.

I must say, like most true Southern girls, I love football. I alternated between the WVU-TX and UGA-SoCar games on the radio as I drove home from the game tonight. (Yes, I drive to and from games by myself most of the time.) I'll be up for online viewing next week since I won't be able to travel to my hometown to watch App take down Samford (hoping...).
About the only thing that ticked me off today was the goobers in front of me who thought they were supposed to cheer loudly when we were on offense. Ugh!

I had a few people turn and stare at me when I screamed "SHUT THE HELL UP, THEY'RE ON OFFENSE" in the fourth quarter.

Agree with you. Not sure if we are getting apathetic, disinterested or if it everyone just hasn;t found the new board yet. But even the game chat was light today. Not many in there. I thought maybe becasue of homecoming as home games are usually not that active.
There were only four of us in the chat today and one of those was a Western Illinois Leatherneck.
Appstate94, McleansvilleAppfan , the leatherneck and myself. 94 and I are in Florida, McLeansville had to work today.
Was everyone else at the game?

First off, this isn't a knock towards anyone that has put in the hard work to create this forum. I do feel though as if our message board fanbase has been fragmented. I have no stats on this but would guess there are far less on this board posting than on the old Delphi board. Feels like something has been lost to me.

As I typed my response I was thinking the same and figured someone would respond back as such. Most everyone was at the game that frequents MMB I bet. I was at my highschool cleaning up from a bunch of labs and left school at halftime. I don't know how many were on chat during the 1st half, but in the 2nd half we never had more than 4 or 5 in chat at one time. One of these was the friendly wiu fan, and another was apptiger, who is in LSU land I do believe. I bet most everyone else was at KBS, which is better than a chat or board thread.
It is possible to save the chat dialogue from my understanding. Some cold do that and post I guess, but that was full of me talking about working all day in my classroom, having a ton of papers STILL to grade, my daughter taking the SATs for the first time, and yes a little about the game. I have no idea about the first half chat. Chat was not all that much either yesterday to be honest, but I enjoyed it well enough.

"Chatting" is all about the demographics I guess. If I am at a game, I usually strike up a conversation with a neighbor, so this is no different. It does add to a sense of community. I put the video on one side of the monitor and the chat window on the other side. If chat is not all that active I watch the game in full screen.

you are correct - I didn't define chatting properly - I guess I should say "technical chatting" - hell my fingers ache so badly I hate even have to text someone -

I had a hilarious response to your post typed and was proofreading it and our power went out. I am so mad right now I can't stand it. Oh well, I'll try to hit the highlights and hope you'll take it in the way it was intended. Yes, it is a joke.
Living in a battleground state, I have been subjected to all kinds of political ads and have learned from them and a little Rickles mixed in.
So, lets disassemble your last post.
"I'm an old head" - REALLY? - you're old and smoke pot, how is that our business?
"I have never "chatted" about anything" - Your post count on the MMB might make one question the veracity of that remark. That aside I bet you are a blast at parties.
[
b][/b
]"Maybe I'm not the right "target market"" - Thought you were a Mountaineer fan?
Seriously, the chat helps us old farts that live a long way away and don't travel much anymore to stay connected. Its also how I found the MMB. There used to be a chat on what was to become Goasu.com someone in there asked why I wasn't on the MMB. I asked what that was.... At some point something happened the university didn't like or got afraid of and the in game chat/bulletin board over there got shut down. When I first moved down here I had to call the local newspaper to get them to read me the wire reports and to get scores. Those guys hated me. A whole 17 or so years later, we have come a long way.
By the way, those other Mountaineers looked pretty good last night.

Nothing wrong with chat but this board does not have the level of discussion and analysis that existed on the Delphi board. Don't know why but it's obvious.

I agree. Maybe some just did not bother to register. Some may have registered, but took it as a good as time as any to devote their energy and time to other things.
Also, all the sports are off this fall so we don't have as much to talk about with VB, Soccer, etc. And the politics folder is missing and that always generated posts when the athletics talk was not as active.

The above 'quote' is the biggest thing I do not like about this format, I have trouble figuring who a post is replying to (like the delphi board said in response to ***) and dislike having to scroll through all the 'quotes'. I never did reply that much but do reply less now for that reason.

Responses do not have to include the quote. You can hit the POSTREPLY button at the bottom of the thread if you do not want to include a quote in your reply,

But then this is no way to follow the thread replies unless the reply is directly below the post being replied to, which is not always the case - at least that is what I think huskie is getting at.
Case in point I am replying to appst89 now, but I bet it will not be so easily obvious (not impossible of course) just reading the thread.
I stand corrected, I am immediately after appst89, even someone from WCU could follow the thread. But having a thread number easy to see and note what is being replied to/from would be nice. But the more I am using this board the more I like it. If I had a metered ISP I would prefer a stripped down account, but that is not an issue at present.

Maybe all of the Delphi posters are so stuck in their ways they won't learn anything new. Stuck in the Stone Age and unable to learn a more modern message board format.
