Its great we are trying to sell tickets and running numerous promotions - I love it and its a welcomed change. However, If 3,250 are still available, that means we have only sold approximately 10,000 tickets. For every game we reserve between 9 and 10,000 for students. Just shy of 1/2 of all KBS seating.
For Thursday night games, we need in excess of 10,000 students at this game. The school should set a goal and strive for 75% student participation which would be around 13,500. This is where we will make a positive impression to the national TV audience and set us apart from peer G5's with empty stadiums during midweek games.
By all means, not discouraging the ticket promos and selling of tix - we need the revenue. But I hope DG and staff have a trick up its sleeve for a massive on campus "get out to KBS" campaign for the week of Oct 20th.

This isn't just an issue for App, it is nation wide. I am seeing this at larger Power Five schools and the smaller schools. But, the student section at App is AWESOME. They love being at the games and the school allows the students an ample # of seats. The special packages are a bonus and hopefully will attract people to the game.
Being a Thursday night and the first of two mid-week games makes it harder for some if not most to attend.
The added killer, it is on ESPNU.... Why come to a game when I can watch it at home.
As for me, I will be there. I saved personal days for both. Bring 'em on

I love the exposure we are receiving by playing on ESPN U. However, I had a sense that this would occur once I saw we were playing twice on Thursday. The exposure is nice, but we don't want to expose an empty stadium to the at home viewers. If we can show that we have a rowdy crowd (Which I know we do) and a great football team that wins (Which I feel we do) that will go a long ways to have casual football fans remember us for more than just the Michigan win.
GO APPS

Have said this since the schedule was announced, but I expect a massive student turnout for Southern (and probably A-State too). ESPN coverage has a way of bringing out people who don't normally attend, or at least it did when I was in school.

Me too. Two high school games here to cover. Thank goodness for TiVo. I may even try to get it on my phone while on the sidelines!
