***THURS UPDATE**** APP STATE / HOWARD WEATHER TREND... 1st

**UPDATE**
No major changes to the forecast. If anything, fog in the AM could be an issue for the early tailgaters along with some rain, use caution coming up the mountain if you hit one of those fog zones; thicker than pea soup. Periods of rain will be spotty (here's hoping we are on the right side of the mountain). Long and short of it, pack the rain gear, chances are, at some point, you will probably need it. Partly Sunny will probably be cloudy to mostly cloudy. Pesky backdoor cold front and "wedge" in play. Temps in the upper 60s to lower 70s for the kickoff.
Either way...
GO MOUNTAINEERS!

Orig Post...
It's that time of year again....! A Summer of sizzle and broil across the Old North State, has had my mind, and heart, longing for 3,333 Feet and that little Saturday, game day, experience we call Mountaineer FOOTBALL!
----------------
Side Note: I just want to express my personal thanks to all of those who contributed to the strength and conditioning fund raiser earlier in the year. Your contributions help, and helped, to further build a strong (no pun) foundation for all things athletic for our sports participating Mountaineers! An awesome collegiate and athletic experience is at hand for those who choose to call App State home for their educational stop in life. Well done you all! I applaud you from my weather cave here at work! PROUD TO BE A MOUNTAINEER!

As for the weather this Saturday....
Here's the early looks at the forecast trends for Saturday.
I'm hoping for a tweak of the forecast once the models get a better grip on our evolving "wedge" sort of pattern for the region. As of today, I'd go ahead and wrap your brain around the chance for a few showers and maybe a t'storm or two. I don't see this as a washout out sort of deal. If anything, we may see improving skies earlier than current expectations as models are often fickle with these "wedge" scenarios. Look for an updated forecast Thursday "ish".
8 AM - M.Cloudy to cloudy sky. Some patchy light rain, 63.
Noon - M.Cloudy, chance for a shower / storm, 68.
3:30 PM - KICKOFF! - Mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies. Chance for a shower / storm, 71.
Halftime - Partly Sunny, Diminishing chance for a shower / storm, 71.
End of Game - Partly Cloudy, departing shower / storm chance, 69.
Pack the rain gear, with luck, you won't need it for the entire day.
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
