Not working too well for Georgia State.... This reminds me of the Six Sigma nerds when I was working for BofA. They measured everything and most of it was meaningless.

App State had the most experienced OL in the country at the start of the 2014 season. We didn't start winning until the youth took over.

Wow, tough crowd.
Pretty sure returning starts/starters are one of the better predictors of year-to-year improvement. Of course, if you're returning a bunch of starters from an 0-12 team, they're probably not going to go 10-2. But that's not the case with App, obviously.
And returning starters from a 4-8 FCS team that's making the jump to FBS isn't the same as returning starters from a team that won its last six games. I think last year served to weed out the guys who weren't quite good enough to win games at this level.

Returning winners bodes better than returning losers. That's the difference between the this year and last with our team, and that's the BIG difference between App and GaSt this year.
It looks very promising on offense. One place where it appears, according to the matrix http://cfbmatrix.com/returning-starts-2014-all-fbs/, that we're lacking experience is DL. We'll miss DEUUUUCCEEE.

That number is wrong. They have us with a total of 8 returning DL starts. Blair alone started I believe almost every game last year (may have missed 1-2 w/injury) and of course started in previous seasons. We return all 12 DT starts between Fernandez/Small/Burns. And Dada/Norwood both passed Deuce and started in the second half of the season.Gonzo wrote:Returning winners bodes better than returning losers. Love seeing App State in the same mentions now as big time programs. I look forward to a fun season ahead.
