Jerry Moore, Appalachian State’s football coach for 24 seasons, will receive the Robert R. Neyland Memorial Trophy for outstanding contribution to collegiate athletics today.

The award, given annually by the Knoxville Quarterback Club, will be presented during Tennessee’s annual spring game on Saturday.

Moore, who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014, totaled 242 victories in 31 seasons overall as a college football coach. He led Appalachian to three NCAA Football Championship Subdivision titles.

The Neyland Trophy has been presented yearly since 1967. Most recent winners were Dave Cutcliffe, Mack Brown and Fisher DeBerry.
