Website improvements

I made a few changes today to try and improve the speed at which the forum loads. Everything I am seeing points to a significant improvement, but I want to find out from a couple of folks here whether they've noticed any improvements, is it the same, or is it worse? Thanks for any feedback anyone can provide.

Seems faster this afternoon than it was this morning.

Thanks for the response huskie. This post has already gotten 70 reviews - any other feedback would really be helpful. Ideally the site should be loading faster than it ever has before. The lack of posts relative to the number of views so far would seem to indicate there hasn't been much of a change.

I'm one of those viewers and the forum does seem to be loading a lot faster. I was waiting to see how it affected me in my other places but for now I haven't noticed any negative effects. I'll let you know how things go during my next posting or editing.

No hesitation any longer when a page loads. This is a vast improvement. Thank you.

Will the change make football season come sooner?
Yeah pages seem to load quickly.
*Edit* My response loaded quickly as well.

SLOWER and eating my memory... I checked task manager for processes running... Was taking 970,000k of memory and 40% of CPU.

So everything seems to be moving much quicker? Good -
I wish I could make football season come sooner but alas - we're stuck for now.

Definitely not what I want. What browser do you use and is consistently slower than before for you or have you only been online today once?

It took forever to load for me just now. I use Google Chrome.

Yuck - sounds like it is better for some and potentially worse for others. As it took forever - is that the same as before or is it actually worse for you now?

I use Google Chrome and TWC turbo internet running at approximately 17.06 Mbps. I do notice a vast improvement. I was using Firefox but it was hanging up on everything I view video wise.

It used to be fine some time ago but lately it's been slow loading. If by "before" you mean before the latest thing you did a day or two ago, it's not much different because it's been slow for my for at least a couple of weeks. However I logged on just now with Safari and it was blazing fast, so I'm just gonna stick with that.

I'm using chrome with TWC Business Class and see a significant improvement loading the forum. Damn near world-class speed.
On the other hand, T-Dog's article about the Holmes Center took forever (in internet time) to load. 15 seconds or more.

If a browser change on your machine significantly enhances the speed (and others aren't having issues with Chrome) it might be a good idea to clear out your cache, temp internet files, etc. on Chrome. Thanks for checking a different browser!

Thanks for the great feedback - that's very helpful. The focus of the improvements was definitely geared towards the forum but I had expected a few benefits to flow through to the main page. I will continue to work on the main site's performance over the coming weeks.
