We were able to get a few words with David Jackson on the upcoming football season. He was very generous in lending a bit of his time to answer some of our questions. Enjoy!

Two things stick out to me in that read. No mention of Tysean at RB.....redshirt? Drew Bailey at TE....that would be a nice suprise to get some production out of him.

Nice that they are spreading their time around and not just for the major media. DJ's interview here and SS's interview with the podcast over at the other place.

I am really interested in seeing the receiving corp this year. If Washington and Peacock can build on what they accomplished last year, we know what we will be getting from those guys. If Sean Price can come in and add that additional wrinkle for the defenses to pay more attention to due to his size, it could really open up things for Peacock and Washington. If you can throw in a fourth guy like Sumler, Bobo, Jones, etc. who can be dynamic in the open field we are looking good. It would remind me of the 2007 year when we had Quick, Coco, Batichon, Jackson, Courman, Cline, etc.
Even with a young o line, the passing game could open up the running game a bit for miller and chisholm and keep the defenses on their toes to protect against the pass more so than the run. Especially with how poorly we ran the ball last year.

While I have been somewhat tempered in my expectations for the season, I think you make an excellent point. Between the defense in preseason focusing on the run and the ability of JJ and his receiving corps to open things up, we may see the running game show some life when the season rolls around.
