You can really see the difference in approach from the previous S&C regime.

Dang Hap, I got fired up just reading his comments! I like that he can make comparisons from FCS and FBS (SEC) perspective. If a guy does not improve from his system, then the player should go somewhere else.
I also like his approach of a total program: injury prevention; nutrition; re-hab; weight training; use of available technology.

I wonder how many Tendo units Coach wants for his program and what that total cost would be. I bet if he started a fundraising campaign (http://www.gofundme.com/Sports-Teams-Clubs/) App fans would be more than willing to help out after reading this article.
I really like that he's setting the bar high! I can't wait to see the players' results after being in his program for a full year.

A lot of real eye opening stuff in there. I'm glad to see he wants to take advantage of our ES program.I know moose had brought that up before.I think it can be an extra advantage for our team
I'd love to get coach Mike's true thoughts on the previous program we were doing lol

Moonshine, just a quick look says $1600 per unit. I would imagine volume buying would lower that somewhat.

Anyone who thought we hadn't lost a ton over the past few seasons needs to read that article. Correctly trained football players shouldn't have been making these types of summer improvements...

"I had three and four year players gain a lot of strength for me in a five-week period over the summer and you never really see that."

Outstanding article on one of the most important, but often overlooked parts of the program. I like that he has an old school mentality on toughness and discipline, but he is also trying to stay up-to-date with the science and technology in today's S&C world. Like others have mentioned it's good to see him working the exercise science department which is world class in its own right.
Of course there was this as well...

Coach Sirignano: You walk into this facility here and you’re blown away. The football offices here do not compare with South Carolina, they’re way better here at App State than South Carolina’s. The building is just amazing. The only thing that’s going to differ up there in the SEC with what we’ve got is just the size. Their weight room is 15,000 square feet, we’ve got 9,000.
But everything is the same, and I tell every recruit that walks in here, we’ve got everything the SEC has got. So, don’t come in here thinking we’re going to do anything different. It’s remarkable, because I’ve also been at a Colonial Conference school where you think facilities are all going to be the same and it’s not even close, and it’s very subpar to what we’ve got here at App State. We’re very fortunate.

Absolutely love what I'm hearing coming from Coach Mike. Competition and getting the most out of the time in the weight room is key. Educating the players on the what, how and why instantly creates buy in from the players.
Utilizing all of the other resources outside just the weight room sounds great. This gives others outside the program a vested interest in our athletes which is a positive.
The S&C program is an area I would like to see App State continue and even increase investments of money and resources. We need to make sure we can keep Coach Mike around for the future as much as we can control (If SEC teams come calling that is obviously hard to pass up).
GO NEERS!

If anyone thinks these kids don't work and bleed to be a part of the App program then read this article. Consider this the next time you want to blast one of these players or a player in any varsity sport. It made me exhausted just reading it and I hit the health club 5 times a week.
