Trying to see the silver lining here and I think we can definitely see some progress in Lamb's play from this past Saturday.

The long throws he was popping out were finally hitting the targets and few, if any of them were over thrown....

On a couple of those throws, the receiver could have called a fair catch cause he was waiting so long for it. FBS teams won't have that soft of a secondary.

Was going to make the same point...this week he under threw the ball on some of those long passes.

The under-throws were a smart play, IMO. We still connected on those passes and generally scored on the play. We over-threw several receivers in the South Al game. If we had similar under-throws in those situations against South Al, I think the passes would have still been completed but there would not have been any yards after the catch. Sure would have been better than the incompletions thrown well past our receiver. Impressive game by Lamb overall on Saturday. Let's hope we can build from our offensive performance.

overall Lambs been really impressive, some of you are maybe questioning his arm strength, from what I have seen its plenty strong enough to complete passes against FBS talent, kids really smart, makes good decisions, and he is a pretty good runner, infact, if I had one complaint about last weeks game, is, had several opportunities to pick up some good yardage with his legs, but he stayed in the pocket too long and forced a couple of throws.

Ain't nothing wrong with Lamb that experience won't cure! He's got poise and moxie. I like the kid.

I wasn't complaining about his performance just noting that he wasn't overthrowing like the previous week.

No, I know, I just thought it interesting you were pointing our something that he specifically addressed on the show on thursday. We did see improvment there.

I guess the coaches have totally given up on Sumler. No playing time last Saturday and when Bobo and Simms can get that wide open down the field, Sumler would have been 7 yards further. He could have had a field day with those Liberty D backs. Just don't understand....

Lamb is on a very good track. Al Groh said he had moxie and bravado. The kid is going to do great things for us. Yea, he is making some mistakes along the way but that is totally expected at this stage and he will work them out with time. His upside is so high. I look forward to watching him mature as a QB. If you cannot see he is the right player and is progressing then you must not be paying attention.

Those passes down field Saturday night are just the beginning of something special. I know there were against FCS D backs, but in time I think "HE CAN" pick any FBS defense apart, if and only if he has an O line that can block. Right now we have only that can do that, but what I've seen, damn we are going to be big up front. Just hope that BIG is big and strong, not BIG like Youngstown was in the playoffs several years back. I think we had a sack record that night.

what I really like about this kid, is he never seems to be in a hurry, takes his time, goes thru his progressions, makes his decision, and lets it go. You can tell he is the son of coach, he is well taught in the fundamentals.

Glad we can agree to disagree a little on this one....I can't say much for others on here who want to bash each other back and forth until everyone on here wants them off... Go Apps!!

Lamb and the wide receivers have made some progress as has the o-line. Here's hoping for further progress as the season continues. Would love to see the first SBC victory in Troy. A lot of the ATL Apps are going to the game and hope to see a decent showing of App pride.

A victory would certainly boost the confidence of this team.

A win against Troy would make all the difference in the world with our football teams attitude. They have to be pretty down on themselves. Hated that Taylor Lamb threw that interception in the end zone, but was proud of him to be so upset at himself right after that. Do not blame him for holding his head down. I would have done the same thing. Thought it was ironic that Caruso was the first to go up to him on the TV play at least. Think Lamb has the right qualities to be an excellent QB for us, but interceptions are almost equaling TD's right now. Give it all you have against Troy guys.

Peyton Manning, and make no mistake, I'm not comparing Lamb to one of the greatest of all time (yet ), threw for 26 touchdowns and 28 interceptions in his rookie season in Indy. Why? Because he had the gun and courage to take the shot. I see that same quality in Lamb. Once this game slows down for him, we will be glad we stuck it out with him.
