Today was evidence that our coaching is absolutely lost. That was the worst direction, during the game, for these kids I have seen this year. It is also the worst I have seen at App in a long, long time. I now believe that there has to be a coaching change and it can't wait another year. Chatty was so much better prepared from a coaching standpoint that it was embarrassing. You want arses in the seat? Have a well prepared, fundamentally sound team week in and week out. That will deliver the fans. This train wreck or anything similar will not.

We should have one this game at home since showing some improvement recently.
No way we should have blown a 3 TD lead. Samford helped us, however by biting the dust today.

We never lead by more than 7.
In the end they executed when it mattered and we didn't. They deserved to win. Yes, we played well enough at times to win but we failed when it mattered.

Didn't notice our coaches dropping passes, missing blocks, missing tackles, not stopping QB Huesman on 4 third downs conversions, and getting burned by fakes during the game. Players play the games.
You don't have a clue as to what the components are to having a winning program.
We don't live in fairy tale land.
And I'm not insinuating SS is Nick Saban, but there were many games in which a Jerry Moore team looked confused at times, but more times than not he had the horses to pull out the W. SS needs his due time to build his program from what The Committee left behind.

You just made my points for me, genius. Blocking, tackling, catching, being prepared for fakes (Brownie actually called it on the radio before they ran it.), and staying home to eliminate the QB's free run are all basic fundamentals of football. I saw the demise in recent years under Jerry, also. It was due to the mass departure of his better quality assistances. Two in particular are Shawn Elliot and John Wiley. S & C have suffered as well.
What is obvious to me is we are routinely out coached. Teams go for fakes and 4th downs because they have studied game tape and see fundamental weaknesses they can attack. As clueless as I am, I know these components are not part of winning programs. They belong in Cullowhee.

As usual WV, your points are well made, thoughtful, educated from obvious practical experience, thorough, intelligent and in large red font.
Thank you for your observations as to the issues you see as our problems. Oh, wait. I forgot. You never see any probelms with the team. HeII, you quit coming on here and posting because mean people pointed out how ignorant you were when you were defending the coaching last year as it was on it's way toward this point.

I recall the quote "somebody's gotta make a play". From a video in the past. Big plays killed us today. More than one of them. One or two key penalties too. Some of those big plays were killers. We are not that far off just mental lapses on a couple of plays made and can make the difference. We have to play every down and cut out the mental mistakes. And somebody' gotta make a play on the fourth down plays, pick sixes, etc.

Obviously when you win a game you don't look back at the moments in the contest where you could have lost it. When you are losing as we are right now, you do tend to pay attention to the little things that cost you a game. If we were a better team right now, it is possible that we win those games decided by 7 points or less. If we had played a bit better, we could easily be 6-3 or 7-2 right now. We aren't and I get that we haven't played well enough to have those kind of records but my point is we aren't that far from being there. This team is not awful despite the record. Call me foolish but I really believe that this team's future is bright.

Woops. I got it mixed up...the goasu site yesterday said they scored 21 in the second half.

I misread the goasu site yesterday. I think instead it said that 'Nooga scored 3 TD's in the second half or 3rd quarter or whatever. My apologies to the team any of them readthe post.

Blocking, tackling, catching, being prepared for fakes (Brownie actually called it on the radio before they ran it.)
If Brownie is so knowledgable why is he not still in coaching? I am so tired of his second guessing everything that I do not listen to the post game any more.

I'm glad we have someone who will tell it like it is.
