David ware believes it too. Lawd have mercy.
He posted with a clear message of skepticism of its validity. Pettiness and bitterness are no way to go through life.

LOL. He did seem skeptical of it. It is clear it is an account making stuff up for engagement and see what sticks.

I'm not sure why people on 247 are crapping on it if it was true though. People need to research them. Folks in the know have told me they got oil money, good facilities, etc.

They will end up in FBS. They would be a great add to our league. I would trade Georgia State, ULM, or South Alabama for them right now.

I didn't want to start a new thread and this has a little bit to do with scheduling, has a band and date been announced for the concert to raise money for football. It was a part of the Appalachian summer arts series, but my understanding is the football group decided to take full control of it and the money raised.

In reviewing the App. Summer lineup, I do not believe it would be associated with App. Summer. Did not see anyone that would generate a large crowd.

The online brochure for App Summer has no events at KBS or Holmes Center.

Nico Moon at Holmes on June 18

Gladys Knight and Rick Springfield will be headlining two concerts “An Appalachian Summer 2026.” And since both are popular entertainers, I suppose we can surmise that Athletics had nothing to do with booking them.

On a more serious note, I wonder why Athletics doesn’t try to book Rainbow Kitten Surprise in for a show or two? With the right timing and good promotion, they would pack the house.

Suppose to be another concert at KBS on July 25. It has been hyped up internally but I do not know who will be performing.

Yes, Gillin told the BOT this in March along with the June concert at Holmes that has been announced.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise played Holmes in October. Drew 5K I believe.

Athletics now does concerts separate from App Summer. Gillin verbally trashed the Schaeffer Center (and the general Boone community) to the BOT in September 2024, saying Athletics did a lot of work for not a lot of money and feeling that the community wasn't pulling their weight. This was the week before Helene.

Nice. As if Gillin needed more people to intensely dislike him.

RKS is a Student draw not a community big money draw. We need a B-series headliner to bring in the money that everyone is hoping. As Gillen might say RKS is a lot of work for not a lot of money. We need it to be a big enough name to draw people from Winston and Charlotte. It needs to be exciting from here to Raleigh and within 3hours drive. I imagine they are talking to Luke Combs but his schedule is probably booked for 2 years, but I bet that would happen. Luke wants to help but doesn't want to write a check specific for NIL. So a concert for NIL is an option.

I thought this was interesting. I think Kelly Clarkson could fill up the stadium (liked by a well rounded group of people...especially if she does some Kellyoke with some new stuff) for the lowest price.

I would book Pearl Jam for the fun.
