Well guys if I knew the players numbers that correspond with the day you know I'd put it here like the last 29 years but the times they are a changin!

The 2026 Appalachian State Mountaineers football roster is dynamic and currently in flux, making a single, permanent numerical list unavailable as of May 2026. Head coach Dowell Loggains' program features an active, highly fluid roster following a major rebuild that brought in more than 60 newcomers, including 35 transfer portal additions and a massive 29-player high school signing class. With players frequently changing jersey numbers throughout spring and fall practices, the most current numerical roster details—including all available jersey numbers—are maintained live on the App State Athletics Roster.

The rest of the SunBelt can manage this.... Coach this is LAZY!!

It makes no sense to me - I always looked forward to your countdown -personally I just don't have anywhere near the enthusiasm nor anticipation for the coming season. Your countdown could have probably helped people like me. Possibly taking them in some alphabetical order might help - Thanks for all the years!!!

I'm feeling the same. Wonder how many numbers haven't been assigned yet?

Maybe I am just different. The name or number were just part of the countdown. The countdown itself is what got me excited as we get one day closer to actual football being played every day. The idea that #98 was a certain person.. ehh for me. The countdown can be alphabetical, numerical. It is not important to me that the countdown day goes with the player and their number. It will take a about 10 minutes or less to view the team with numbers.while sitting in the stadium before the Maine game. I am good.

What has me more excited is how the schedule plays out. It works well for someone with a long drive (6 to 7 hours to each home game). This may be the first time in like forever I can make all the home games except the one after thanksgiving. I am still in negotiations on that one .

One item of concern is determining where we find NIL money for GAS to keep doing this..
