We need to beat them, it won't make up for last year but it will get us 1 game closer to bowl eligibility and those extra practices that come with it. Looking at the schedule, I feel this is a must win.

Just what we need on our schedule.to right the ship ...Let's give Stink the loss they deserve. Their fanbase is already having conniption fits given their record...
Let's make Clay's hot seat scorching hot...

Our recent performances donβt exactly give reason for optimism.

Are we approaching this game like hate week or love week? That will go a long way depending on the approach.
Black and blue bowl, beat the stink.

Loggains knows what week it is. Getting that across to the players will be a challenge but hopefully the message will be delivered. Winning is a must.

The Facebook community group posts in Boone/Watauga asking what the heck the drone show was after the game are going to be very entertaining.

You ultimately are measured against your record vs conference mates. For App that is GS, Marshall, JMU, and CCU. Reversing those trends minus JMU, surprisingly, is critical.

For new players and new students they associate JMU and Coastal as more of a hatred game than GASO. They just don't have the experience of playing them in the Socon days.

Students, yes. However, with Speir and Smith on staff the players do not think like this.

Would love to beat them, will hate to lose to them.

Seems that we may have to have this one to get to 6 wins. Not sure we can win the last 2 in a row.

I feel good about this one. DL, his staff, and our team needs a little coming out party.

I haven't seen anything from the Stink that makes me think they are any good this year. App isn't great, but they are better than Southern. For instance, even though the final scores are comparable, Southern needed a fourth quarter comeback to beat Georgia State as opposed to App's domination of GSU ending with the second string giving up a couple touchdowns in garbage time.
Either way, it's Hate Week, and I hope we beat the absolute dog mess out of The Stink.

Personally, I feel we are two wins better than our record indicates. I get it, actual wins are all that matter. If we had cut out turnovers and penalties at the worst times, 2 more wins IMHO. However, would have, should have, could have only work in fantasy land

I think it's a war of attrition at this point. Going to make it closer than what you might otherwise expect.

Watched Georgia Southern lose to Arkansas State last Saturday. Our game with them a week from Thursday is a tossup, in my book.

If we can re-establish our running game and win the turnover battle, we will be a handful for anyone in the Sunbelt.....1-0!
