Corso pal......You will be missed.
Lee Corso is a legendary icon to college football. This man created GAMEDAY! It's sad to see the page turn into a new era.
But wait, wait.....not so fast my friend...We do have something to get excited about as we pass the torch to a new era.....here at App State we have ourselves a Ball Coach.
From all of Mountaineer Mania we Welcome Coach DLo!

ESPN actually did a proper send off for him. He’s going to be greatly missed.

He will be missed. Sadly, it appears that Corso might have some similar cognitive issues that Biden has displayed so I truly hope that Corso is taken care of and is able to live happy and comfortable for the rest of his life. He gave a lot to our sport and deserved every bit of the send off they gave him.CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 11:08 amLee Corso is a legendary icon to college football. Corso is one of a kind and I am glad he got to go out on his own terms. I thought after the stroke in 09 it was the end, but he worked his way back. He does appear to have some issues but a friend of mine is very close to him and tells me that he is still very sharp. He is fortunate that he has a very good family, friends and many people to look after him. I really believe that a large part of the growth and popularity of college football is directly tied to him, he got people interested.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 11:43 amHe will be missed. 100% agreed. It appeared he got as good as he could get after the stroke but has since slid a little the last couple years. I hope he enjoys retirement and realizes the impact he made. One sad thing about the impact you have is that most of the time you have no clue because people don't celebrate you until you pass on. I feel like today maybe gave him a glimpse of the impact he made with what all they did for him.t4pizza wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 12:08 pmCorso is one of a kind and I am glad he got to go out on his own terms. I hope you guys saw the doc they did on him on ESPN. They showed last weekend and last night. Very emotional, especially at the end with Kirk. Both in tears. Me too

You might not like the style but have to respect the effect of what he did. He created a lot of great for TV moments. I don't watch Game Day anymore, and have not for over 10 years, but Corso has been a staple on a show that has had a lot of big moments on TV for a lot of fans.

No, I do not. Kirk Herbstreit ain't high on any of my lists either. See where this going?AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 6:57 pmYou might not like the style but have to respect the effect of what he did. He created a lot of great for TV moments. Re: Corso pal......You will be missed.
I am stumped as to why two people that don't like them and does not see the need to be respectful and say a nice word would waste time in this thread? Personally, I don't tune in weekly and can take it or leave it but they made a show popular that honors college football and they have been to Boone. I appreciated them coming. Our students had fun and it was great publicity for the program.CVAPP wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 7:19 pmNo, I do not. Kirk Herbstreit ain't high on any of my lists either. Re: Corso pal......You will be missed.
I have only had cable TV for a few years so I never was a regular viewer of ESPN programs. And it has been a few years since I had ESPN proper, but the little bit I did watch it seemed he was all about the Prig5 schools, and I will never forget Kirk making the comment about us before Michigan in 07.
I hope he enjoys a well earned retirement and he is a model of how to come back from a stroke, but that does not excuse the point made by CVAPP. And I say that while I enjoyed the heck out of GameDay and him putting on the Yosef head a few years ago.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

If you didn’t smile when Corso went on those rants and put of a mascot head, do you think even like CFB?
Thanks for the memories!
