The ultimate would have been to try to schedule around a baseball and softball game. Of course pray for a 65 degree day with clear skies and just make it a full App sports day. That would have been huge.

This is good news. I wish it was a week later to piggy back with a home baseball game (or even 2 for better chance at better weather) but a spring game is better than no spring game.
How is construction atop Bodeheimier? Old Broyhill next to baseball stadium. Hope that construction doesn’t effect fan attendance this year for baseball but I know there is a lot going on up there.
(Not the right thread for this but while we mentioned baseball, softball construction @ 105 might as well ask)

There is still parking up by the stadium for a price. They ran busses up from Greenwood last year. I don’t think that the construction adversely affects attendance.

It should be much better than last year. All of the roads are in place now and the staff housing is scheduled to be complete this spring.

Get students excited. Have contests. Winners get
One student per quarter gets access to Offensive booth upstairs. So, 3 or students win
Sane for D booth
One student per team goes out for coin toss
One student shadows HC for a quarter or entire game.
I am sure more examples. Get students excited to attend.

What is the purpose of a spring game?
In this instance, a chance for the new staff to drive fan interest and excitement early on. Come out and see all the new new. New schemes, players, etc. get fans talking during the offseason

This would be an excellent opportunity to invite past players to come back for an event as well. The offseason for those playing pro and spring break for families.

To make money. Get to know the players and coaches. In game reps for players. Get a good read on depth chart before the summer hits. Town makes money, food and bev, hotel…etc.
...and we also get an awesome opportunity for some App State Tailgate practice!! :D

I enjoyed the last one even though it was cold. Joe Gibbs sat behind me which was really cool.

Hopefully they make it in the afternoon unlike past spring games where it started before noon

Not sure what time the game will be. Softball faces ULM @ 3 pm and volleyball has a spring season match against High Point the same day. That spreads athletics pretty thin. I’m hoping that a fanbase that has been clamoring for a Spring Ball game will find reasons to show up and not make excuses for not being there.

Spring Roster is up. We might need to do work in the spring portal.

There will assuredly be more attrition and additions after spring ball.

One punter and one LS. Seems we need backups.
Not sure if someone else is the backup at LS and plays another position...
