That’s always going to be the biggest part of it. But, Clark did a great job representing App State with the extra attention of Game Day and the importance of that day to the program. Drink would have done well on that stage. Satt would have have aced it.

I was thinking of a role in line with developing a more cohesive football alumni network.
Also hopefully developing more relationships in Charlotte.

We provide real world value to people searching for engaged fanbases and are as good as the other options for the bored billionaire type
I could see him based out of Charlotte. We’ve tried to put someone in the Queen City before.
Just my 2 cents. We would be better off going into the smaller towns than Charlotte. Charlotte is full of people from the Northeast and Midwest. The folks from the Northeast don’t care about college football and the other folks belong to Ohio State and Michigan.
It’s where our largest alumni base is located.
Fun fact: Wake County has been closing in on Mecklenburg County over the years now within 750 and is underserved.

Meck around 11,500 and Wake just shy of 11K.

Interesting. Any ideas what is attracting alumni to the triangle?

Its not Charlotte

Joking aside, I actually think there is a much higher clip of students coming from the Triangle over the last 20 years than ever before and choosing to return to the area.

Charlotte is a fine place to raise a family and I need access to the airport but all things being equal I would pick Raleigh over Charlotte. Better food, better museums and better infrastructure Charlotte is marginally better on outdoor activities and has the better beer and airport. Closer to Boone too

It has nothing to do with Shawn in particular. It’s being the face of the program. If you want more people to buy in, DLo not only has to win, but also has to play the role with the media and fans.

For starters, Wake County is almost double the land size of Mecklenburg so those numbers aren’t surprising. Not sure on population though. The triangle does have a nice draw to it. Hard to go wrong in either City.

Population is close. Wake 1.28M vs Meck 1.26M.

Wake though is growing very rapidly. Some would say it’s too much.

Yes. You have Cabarrus and Iredell to the north. Union the east. Lincoln and Gastonia to the west and the Fort Mill/Rock Hill area.

And the greater Triangle brings in Durham and Orange, Johnston Co, Harnett Co, etc.

My original point remains by bringing the attention to the number of Alumni in (and around Wake County).

The greater Charlotte area gets a lot of attention and it makes sense because it has historically been the overwhelming largest alumni base & it’s convenient to Boone (easy access). Wake and the Triangle area takes more effort (not an easy day trip), hence my comment being underserved despite the Alumni base in this area being on the heels of Charlotte in numbers. When I graduated in early 2000’s Fortsyth/Greensboro was the 2nd largest.

Triangle 1 Alumni Chapter
Charlotte Metro 5 Alumni Chapters

Charlotte is getting 170 people a day. At least there is more land in RDU area to develop.

I do believe he has to if just going to a bowl game but if he brings home trophies I think people will overlook him not playing the role with media and fans. I personally don't care if he plays politics as long as he is winning double digit games. I think he could get by ignoring the media completely as long as he plays politics with our high level and mid level donors.

I am not one of those complaining but just feel like those who have complained won't stop until we are Sun Belt East Champions and I do think that would take 10 wins.

We are in a new era of college football where old expectations need to be removed. Like it or not, we are a minor league division for the big boys. Rosters are going to be revolving doors. That comes with losses such as tradition, culture and inconsistency. 7-5 needs to be the standard mindset of fans.
