If he is out of eligibility, then I understand. I didn't realize that. 50 or 60 coming and going each year, it's going to be hard to keep up with all this stuff.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 6:48 pmPretty sure he’s out of eligibility, right?AppState89 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 6:45 pmHe needs to stay at App. At least he will get to play. I am pleasantly surprised that Dowell actually made the hire, and instantly skeptical as he's never been a coordinator or even a main assistant before.appstate24 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:35 pmFolks…

I’ve never understood what half of those coaching jobs are.
What does the Quality Control guy actually do?

Beggars simply cant be choosers. Asking a coach to get 3 coordinators on a 2 coordinator budget isn't easy. It requires someone to be inexperienced. It was a demand by DG and DLo pulled it off with the resources given.T-Dog wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:48 pmI am pleasantly surprised that Dowell actually made the hire, and instantly skeptical as he's never been a coordinator or even a main assistant before.appstate24 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:35 pmFolks…

I don't know how much it changes play calling, but it does alleviate some of the stressful workload.

Anything that the coaches above them ask, essentially. Prep, recruiting, planning, drills, laundry, food. It’s an entry level job similar to other industries that require you to do a lot of things that the people above you delegate.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:53 pmI’ve never understood what half of those coaching jobs are.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Most of those coaching titles were created so teams could have more “coaches” than rules allowed. Game day on-field coaches used to be limited. The Alabamas and Georgias of the world have boatloads of analysts and QC “coaches.”

This sounds like Anthony won't be calling plays.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:57 pmBeggars simply cant be choosers. Asking a coach to get 3 coordinators on a 2 coordinator budget isn't easy. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Just remember, OC doesn't always mean play caller. There's more duties to being an OC than calling plays. This just seems like a role to take certain things of DLo's plate to free him up for more HC duties
