That tiered rendering looks good. I especially like the grassy slope is slightly off center in the middle and off in the opposite direction of the NEZ. Genius.

So, you want 50 to 75 band members to run out onto the field and play during the 3 minute timeouts?😂😂😂
Play at half time on the field without the DJ and during time outs from the stands.

Possibly unpopular opinion, but I’m not a fan of the students sliding down the hill in the mud. Kinda feeds into the hillbilly stereotype.

I think it would be cool to replace the hill with general admission grandstands. Kind of a miniature “Yellow Wall” like at Borussia Dortmund.
Yeah mo concrete.

Move the hill (or install stands) right behind endzone endline which would allow for space behind. I prefer stands.

Sorry that something I threw together in 15 minutes for a quick concept didn’t live up to your high standards. I’ll try harder next time around, promise!

Appreciate it. Some people are simply rude because that’s all they can contribute to a conversation, it seems.

I was suggesting it was intentionally done off center to match the NEZ...genius... nevermind not intended as a critique though.

Lot of sensitivity on this board all the way around. Assume good intent...until you shouldn't.

That tiered seating with turf looks pretty good. My son typically ends up there for games and says it’s terrible. It might be time to move on from the mudslide.
Other potential benefits with this idea:
  • Low initial development costs
  • Easy to maintain
  • Damage is less likely to occur and easy to repair
Another benefit: if the school decides to do something different with the Hill down the road, sunk costs are minimal.

I say keep it as it is. One of our biggest home field advantages is our students. Why take away a thing the students enjoy? It's not causing any harm.

The solution for the students is simple -- don't want to sit on the hill, get to the game sooner.

Only for the sake of discussion here 704, but what tangible advantage does it provide for large swaths of the hill to clear out to make room for the sliders, which also distracts them from paying attention to the game and instead focuses them on sliding down a hill and/or dodging those who are?

If a student wants to go to the game for the social aspect and couldn't care less about the game, let them! Now, I do get the having to dodge them thing can be an annoyance, but two things -- 1) again, they can get to the game earlier if they don't want to be on the hill and 2) it's typically only one or two runs that are easy to steer clear from.

I would be totally on board with only allowing it to happen in a certain section and putting pads at the bottom of the hill or something along those lines, but I don't see any reason to take something fun away just because some people think it looks bad. Obviously, the students enjoy it and it adds an additional perk to a great homefield advantage. Those kids may not be paying full attention to the game, but you can't tell me they aren't making a ton of noise! I think it looks fun and wish my old achey body could join in -- I just wouldn't make it back up!

Certainly my views would change is it start becoming violent and out of control, but as of now, it's kids/young adults being kids/young adults and having a good time with their peers and not harming anything/anybody else..

Of course but sometimes announcements over them.

No one’s saying “take it away.” This is more about making it more enjoyable for the people who like to stand over there. And most of those kids like being over on the Hill…it’s where the action is.

Miller Hill can wait. Nothing is more embarrassing than our speaker system. You can’t even hear the intro or 4th Q videos in half of the stadium. High School venues have better sound than us.
