Game thread, home TD dog. Will need to win TO battle by two to win. Our rush defense will be strained greatly.

Earlier in the season, JMU looked to have lost a step from last year. I had confidence.

That confidence is completely gone. JMU by a million, unfortunately.

Weirdly feel good about climbing out of a 14-0 hole halfway thru the 1st quarter. We win in a tight one that comes down to a possession in the 4th.

Captain- “we elect to award JMU 7 points and then let them kick off”

Official- “most unusual are you sure you don’t want to play defense?”

App- “yes just put 7 on the board”

We do start slow, hopefully not slower coming off a bye week. JMU has shown if they can drop 50 on you they will.

They've had a weird season, struggled against ODU last week and a terrible GWebb team early in the season, dominated UNCCH and CCU, lost to ULM and GSU.

They appear to be the same caliber as ULL, Texas St., and Marshall, solid 60-70th in FBS, but not a great team.

The SBC was ripe for the picking if any conference team were the caliber of App 2015-2020, ULL 2019-2021, CCU 2020, and JMU last year. There just isn't a team like that this year.

Coming off bye week. I hope we go on offense if we win the toss.
Do a little trickery on the kick-off, actually do a jet sweep versus just sending the guy in motion.
JMU DBs are suspect. I feel like we got some opportunities there if the QB sees the whole field....or play calls are not the down the sideline jump ball idea. Will definitely need someone to step up in 2's absence.

Under/over is 60.5, that sounded high, but looking at scores probably a good line.

Interestingly every game that the combined score was over 60 we've lost, sadly had four of those, and 58 in ULL game.

We give up 35 points on average, 34ppg if you toss out ETSU and Clemson.

Woof. I miss the days of giving up less than 20ppg on average.

I would love to sit in KBS on Saturday up 7 in the 4th and feel confident that our defense will stop an opponent.

I took the under (was 61.5) at the time. I see them scoring about their same and our D's same of giving up in the 30s. But losing Robinson for us and their D probably being decent keeps us lower.

Do you really think it matters if JMU has a mixed record against SBC teams this season?
They are a rival. They will bring their A-Game to KBS. Count on it.

By the end of Quarter 1, we'll know if our kids are engaged and hungry to finish strong.
If they aren't, things could get ugly (apart from the score) and the stands will empty quickly.

Hate to say it but I’ll be surprised if we don’t get blown out. I hope the odds makers know something I don’t. Robinson being out will really hurt our offense.

I expect to see some new faces worked in during the bye week practices.

Yeah remembering just ruined my day and could be really bad seeing them on TV/phone Saturday. May be lucky that I have to be at a kids bday party during most of the game.
