Wind noise is brutal...
Good production though.

I hate to say it but I do not subscribe to app TV because it seems every broadcast has issues.
I hope to gain confidence and join up.

Another communication failure. What's new.

I have been a subscriber since GoASUTV was first rolled out. I do not remember the last time I had issues with a game broadcast - this area has improved tremendously! It seems the times issues occur are the non-routine instances outside of the press box. Such occurrences are Mountaineer Talk, when Satterfield guest hosted the Glenn show with DJ - Satterfield was in Boone and technical difficulties kept him from joining the show until after the first commercial break, then today a couple of glitches with Randy's interviews.
I am not a communications specialist and did not stay at a holiday inn express last night, but DJ and his crew deserve new equipment. You can't do anything equipment-wise about the wind today except have some form of quality control, but you can do something about the technical difficulties.
Most if not all athletic teams have received upgrades in facilities/uniforms/etc over the last 5-10 years. DJ has poured his heart and soul into producing a top notch broadcast and brought himself and the school notable recognition for his efforts. It is past time he is rewarded.

I agree with you so much. DJ deserves better. He's got an army of student interns, but they can only do so much. I do think we need an A/V specialist who knows html code for all the different smart phones and computers.
Also, NeuLion needs to go. Georgia Southern, who was light years behind App in A/V, caught up due to having their stuff done in house and using YouTube, which is already compatible with every device.
I believe new video equipment was in the Athletics Report back in February. We have a great video editor in Jake Stroot who's an App guy through and through. He's had offers to go elsewhere for more money, but he's stayed here. It amazes me that we have such a great video editing department for football and everywhere else is lacking A/V wise.
I remember at a softball game this past spring an intern coming with a camera and a tripod to film some stuff for online. They stayed for three innings, the first inning of which was spent figuring out why the camera wasn't working, then leaving.

Well said. I have watched many games on GoASUTV (generally away games since I'm at the home games) and rarely ever have significant problems. It's not perfect, but it's better than not being able to watch and well worth the price. The problems I've had have been for special events. I definitely agree that DJ and team deserve some better equipments.

Yosef84-
It's impossible to watch GoASUtv for away games.
Video stream for away games is provided by the other school.
We only do audio (i.e. radio) for away games.
There is a production issue of some sort with every event we produce and I do believe it is largely equipment related.

Not entirely true. If both schools use NeuLion for the video we generally carry the away team feed. That comes with the away team audio. Then maybe that is what you meant. I was not sure by your wording.

The video production is still from the other school in that scenario.
Chatt is only school we get that luxury, I think.

Yes, a real luxury indeed. I loved watching that spinning 'C' every five seconds.

AppState - Neulion
Cit - Presto Sports
Dav - Sidearm Sports
Elon - Sidearm
Furman - Presto
GaSo- Must have changed recently, but was on NeuLion. Seem to be some sort of in-house process it seems.
UNCG - Presto
Samford - Sidearm
Chat - NeuLion
WCU - CBS Sports
Wofford - Sidearm
SoCon - Neulion
You are correct. 2 years ago about 1/2 of the schools were JumpTV/Neulion. I did not bother to see which are charging for access vs free but most schools with Presto/Sidearm are free. A lot of other schools out of the SoCon use Neulion so I hope it has some use in other sports where we have more non-conf games.

Here are the schools in the Sunbelt and what they use at the present
UA-LR - Neulion
Ark State - NeuLion
Ga State - Neulion
UL-L - Sidearm
UL-M - NeuLion
South Ala - Sidearm
Texas State - Sidearm
Troy - Sidearm
UT-Arlington - CBSSports
WKU - CBSSports
AppState - Neulion
GaSo - In House it seems
Idaho - NeuLion
NMSU - NeuLion
Sun Belt - XOS Digital
And since these JMU's name pops up some during talks of a new SB member I'll mention
James Madison - NeuLion
Maybe next year we will have a few more uses for away games that are not on TV in any manner.

Those that say they have not had any problems with neulion....hard to believe.
Even the Sun Belt / App State announcement telecast was messed up.
Got to the point the last few years that if I go to watch something I
automatically figure it is going to mess up, and normally it does.

It's not Neulion. It's ASU's legacy equipment and previously NO budget to upgrade outdated hardware- which is hard for me to believe, but it's true. I've had private discussions with some folks on the production team.

Did they ever catch whoever stole all the media production and editing
equipment a couple of years ago?
