Gillin made his mind up the night of South Alabama loss, that was the beginning of the end for #TeamClark for good. aint no flipping the decision this year.

#TeamClark survived last year Wyoming, UL Monroe gauntlet that Gillin wanted to run him out, but with the JMU win had #TeamClark safe.

I have not talked to Gillin but I really think if we somehow win out that he would bring him back for one more year.

If Gillin has made his mind up though then he should be looking around for quality coaching candidates and be prepared to move very fast on Dec 2.

No way this collection of players and coaches are winning out. .500 would be fortunate.

I don't think they will either but when you are the decision maker you can't appear to make knee jerk reactions. If we do what most of us are expecting to do then I firmly believe Gillin will move on. Just a couple issues for making a move now is lack of ideal interim, buyout will shrink a lot on Dec 2, and the fact that getting rid of him now would not likely see a huge improvement in results. I would think that if Gillin is already expecting to make a move that he should be collecting names and making some calls. If we do have a coaching search then this is no doubt the biggest decision in program history. This can't be a lazy search. It has to be a national search where Gillin does his due diligence and I have no doubt he knows that.

What if the coordinator has previous head coaching experience? Either way, we definitely need someone who has been a head coach and won. I want someone who has shown they can find diamonds in the rough and also use the portal well.

No. I want to see how people are faithful during tough time for the program or are they like UNC and only have 15k yesterday.

We won't have 35k but we also won't drop to 15k either. I think we will be around 25-29k. I think Shawn better win the next 2 games or attendance will drop even more and Gillin will definitely decide to move on due to seeing attendance and revenue decrease.

Gillin should have already made the decision. That’s what is scary. No one is willing to lay their n*t’s on the table for this program to right the ship and turn it around.

No chance 30k show up with a 2-4 record, Hurricane Helene and the Charlotte Luke concert.
Closer to 20k than 30. And that’s mostly students.

Not gloating about attendance, BUT just think a team that only has 9% chance to make a Bowl game at this point having 25k for a home game, be pretty sweet.

Other factors the later in the year the colder it gets the less fans show up typically. App Fans are different though,
some are still struggling, no water at most areas in Jeff, Watauga and counties west.

Be a testament to their resolve and faithfulness. Linville Ridge just got power last night, still no water in much of Avery.

Gillin will NOT make a mid year move, that's not his style and there isn't anyone on staff that can jolt the players to turn it around. Let it ride out and #cleanhouse

The unfortunate thing is he will still be around and that's sad, because he's as much of the issue as on field play.

See I don't think he is not beloved or appreciated. He was a good player who was well liked and people loved him when he took over. I think the reality is that in this business our fanbase expects to win and most people don't want to give someone a much longer leash because they are one of our own. I think most believe that being an App guy he should have more success than some outsider coming in, whether that is how it should be or not.

I don't know how Gillin feels about him personally but based on what he has said I think he knows we have to win and if any coach starts good but gradually falls off and no sign of a rebound that he will move to try and course correct. We will see how the season finishes. I do think Gillin will retain him if he wins out but I just don't expect us to win out. We have too many issues and I think your phrase "clean house" is probably what we need from top to bottom in football.

Allow me to say this, and feel free to criticize me if you wish. There seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the realities of those who are up on the mountain and those who aren’t.

Others here on YC who live in the area can tell you that while things are beginning to get back to “normal” in some areas of the HC, things are still far from normal and it will take months (if not years) for a full recovery to be completed. And FYI– if anyone thinks that’s “disaster porn” or whatever, you’re entitled to your opinion. It’s the truth.

Finally, if you haven’t read Chancellor Norris’ email from last week, I encourage you to do so. I think it provides a really clear picture of where the larger focus is right now at App.

While I’m not sure if it will happen, I do hope we see a home game in Boone this year. While I didn’t think it was a possibility 30 days ago, it’s more likely that it could happen now, albeit in some form that’s different than what we’d normally expect.

We will most likely win 2 or 3 mores games and at best be 5-7. That shouldn't save anyone's job. I wouldn't mind seeing our backup QB as Joey was a big reason we lost Saturday. I don't think it can hurt at this point.

Thing in the town limits of Boone are operating nicely. 15 minutes in any direction you will see the chaos of the destruction of flooding.

We knew where this was going when we jumped procedures from Ops 3 to Ops 1, which is not how things usually work. I believe they will have both home games in Boone. I just hope longstanding issues, like the Raley parking lot sinkhole, dont rear their ugly head during these events.

not trying to be "that guy" but we won't be 5-7. We will only play 11 games if we only win 5, so 5-6 is possible. That's possible, but I honestly saw significant improvement in the D this Saturday. Without 5 turnovers, we win going away against a pretty good (not great) Louisiana team. I don't know where we wind up. We seem to find a new way to shoot ourselves in the foot. There are no invincible teams on our schedule, so it's really hard to say. That's why they play the games.

Exactly what I’m going to do. It’s a bad look with all the pain and suffering to ask for athletic donation. I asked for refund and will direct those funds and much more to those in need.

I believe it depends on on the lense you viewed the email. It is giving you three options. Donate to athletics department, get cash and donate it a community cause, or get refund and pocket the cash. Those options are always available.
