More than a game

Let me start by saying I’m not preaching to anyone. I’m guilty of not thinking about this too. I just want to remind everyone that this group of folks, players, coaches, staff and administrators are going through something this season that is so much bigger than football and is something no one should have to endure. That said I’m going to ask us all to take a step back and have some grace for everyone involved in our football program. Maybe just making it through this season is enough.

If this what I believe it is about, I am a bit disappointed that it felt like we didn’t do anything to honor him during the first game. I am still holding out hope we do something next weekend at the Marshall game.
I know there are a lot of dynamics that go into it that I don’t know about but I feel a simple moment of silence or remembrance of some way would have helped instead of ignoring it.
I’ve mentioned this to a few people but I do believe we are missing his on field leadership and energy.

I have had similar thoughts. Frankly was told we would do whatever the family was comfortable with. I have not pursued it further.

I figured we would have his number on our helmets for the season, at the least. Perhaps the family didn't want/approve of that.

That kinda what I figured. Wish there would be at least a helmet sticker.

I still get numb when I think of it. Of him. No answers.

I have absolutely no insight but if something is done the Marshall game would probably make sense. Seems like the young man was loved in both places.
