The slow starts under Clarck are absolutely killer. There have been WAY too many games where we have come in unprepared and somehow win in spite of pregame coaching issues and slow starts.

Props to coaches for making adjustments and for putting the right subs on the right spots. Def wasn't pretty but when you are down that many starters....it's def an accomplishment to win.

Don't forget the great coaching move of huddling on offense and slowing down the game. That took ECU's offense out of their tempo rhythm and also gave our defense more time to rest between series.

Not sure who the announcers were, never checked. So glad they weren't 100% ECU homes.
That was lessons learned I hope. 5 straight quarters of bad is not survivable again. For me or the team. Thank God for our guys getting it right.

Might start seeing more of the old style huddle. Especially in big games in loud arenas. Huddle would help qb hear signals better.

Wasn’t pretty, and the start was a nightmare, but being down a lot of defensive production and still fighting back is true mountaineer football. Glad we’re coming home with the win

Played with grit today, especially the defense. A lot of folks out and they found a way to get it done.
Passing game in pretty good shape with Joey, we have some great receivers.

I am not sure exactly what is wrong with our running game but....
You can't run if the defense is in your backfield on every play. Other teams are getting way too much penetration. Not sure if we are tipping plays, too easy to predict, bad play calling or bad blocking but something needs fixing, NOW.

I don't think we have lost against any in-state MWC, MAC of SB teams either since moving up to FBS.

That is a nice stat when it comes to recruiting in-state.

With 2 questionable targeting calls taking two better defensive players out of game.
Joey needs to settle down... trying to live up to preseason awards...too many throws off back foot...with that said, he still piled up much yardage...
