We are what we put on the field.

We put junk on the field against ETSU.
We put comedy on the field against CU.

So right now we are somewhere in between junk and comedy.

It may be the case for a lot of G5 teams soon unfortunately.

I hate to say it, but this has been my growing feeling for the last 6 months. I’m not sure we have the resources to compete, regardless of “culture”. We will likely often still be better than most, but we can’t pay to play, at least not like our peers (never mind the true “haves”).

My biggest fear is that college football, within a decade, will be so completely different from what it is now that I no longer find it enjoyable. I really don’t care about the NFL, and CFB is rapidly becoming NFL-lite. No thank you.

Most of my friends think G5 will be gone or put into a different division. Just can’t compete with the big money if this keeps going as is.

Agree with your friends. Many of us felt back in the 2000s that we needed to move up so we would be in tier 2 and it seems even more inevitable now.

We need to have our own playoff. Making the present playoff system is nothing more than a one game participation trophy.
