Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
I am curious to see how teams beat up on each other. If the ACC or Big 12 runner-up is 10-3 and the 4th team from SEC is 9-3 or 8-4 I bet the ACC would get the 2nd team. There is no doubt that the SEC and Big Ten are both hoping to get 4 each. It will be easier to really debate this come early November once things have started to play out.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:49 pmYou hit the nail on the head, by design it's an SEC and B1G show, everyone is likely 1 and done311neers wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:38 pmSEC might get more than 3 in.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:16 pmStyle points will absolutely matter and I hope Shawn realizes that. The absurd thing is Ga and a few others could probably beat us all they wanted. 2024 Fiesta Bowl Oregon over Liberty.

Non P4 really is JV now with lack of NIL money, FCS is 7-8th grade - lol
Tells me some coaches realize style points are going to matter when it comes down to who is picked for CFP. We better take note.
Just doing the math on the picks for playoff I would imagine 3 from SEC and Big Ten each, 2 from Big 12 and ACC each, and highest rated G5 champ. That is 11 spots. If a second G5 team is going to get in or you want to guarantee you are highest rated I think style points will matter big time.
Georgia Bama Texas OU Ole Miss Mizzou and Tennessee all have a solid chance. ACC only getting 1 in at this rate. Edit: Forgot LSU. Sheesh, that’s 8 teams that can run with anyone. Might be time to go to 16 already! Haha

Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
Just looking at last year and SEC had 6 in the top 12 (but 1 of those was Texas). They’ll beat up on each other for sure. I’m not sure what ACC teams are going to go 10-2 when Clemson FSU VT all have 1 loss already. Miami or Clemson feels like the ACC team to beat. Clemson schedule is charmin the rest of the way, after us, of course.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:14 pmI am curious to see how teams beat up on each other. I can just see the selection show now. Whoever announces the teams will mispronounce Appalachian and if we get in this season they will reference the Michigan game.

I'm sure if we get to that point surely someone will be there to correct them pretty quickly. It would not take away from the moment but it would piss me off.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:28 pmI can just see the selection show now. Things will change as the season goes so I won't write off a schedule yet. With the portal you never know who will come out of nowhere. I will be curious to see how much teams beat up on each other over the next 8-9 weeks. It would not surprise me if the ACC gets 1 team or gets 3.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:23 pmJust looking at last year and SEC had 6 in the top 12 (but 1 of those was Texas). Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
Clemson made it out relatively healthy against Georgia. Their dobbers are down but no injuries.
I believe we made it out healthy too v ETSU. Obviously, Stroman is dinged up but don’t recall anyone else injured. Clark mentioned heat and rotating our DL against Clemson. Hopefully that means Hopper is returning this week- wish someone would ask the question, I thought Present was about to ask if he was playing.

That seems high. I get that UGA is A LOT better than we are. But has Clemson really been able to score since Trevor Lawrence?

I hope they can wait another weekend to do a lot of scoring if that's the caseappgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:26 pmThat seems high. I get that UGA is A LOT better than we are. But has Clemson really been able to score since Trevor Lawrence?

On the Clemson show that airs on FOX Greenville, Dabo said App is the best G5 team.
They had a big feature on Klubnik that was filmed over the summer. On another note, Klubnik turned off comments on his Instagram after this weekend because people were posting GIFs of burgers flipping and DoorDash.

Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
I assume based on name they’ll stay in top 25 since I think GA is seen as better than majority even in the top 25.

Top ACC team has a rough opener, attempts to take out their frustrations on a 17 point underdog:

Lord we are spoiled rotten at App State but winning a big P5 game with a comfortable lead in the 4th is something we've never done.
