As we all are getting excited for the football season and looking at possible travel plans for away games. I have not been to the App/GS game in Georgia since my college days. I'm curious to everyone's previous experience of taking an extended weekend trip to the Stink game. With the game being Thanksgiving weekend, there are plenty of opportunities for a 3 day trip with wife and 2 year old including the App game. Obviously, we are going to stay away from stinksboro till pregame. So where would be the best place to stay at considering things to do?
Downtown Savannah?
Tybee Island?
Hilton Head Island?
All suggestions are welcome. Thanks! #GoApps
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

It really depends on the environment you want to be...beach or city. Given the time of year, the beach areas should be cheaper...but Thanksgiving weekend may be an exception. I really like Savannah. However, i did not go with a young child. Great history....and fabulous restaurants.

Good advice by Bamboo. I personally like Savannah ( even better than Charleston) great history and very compact. Just far enough away from stinkboro that the stink doesn’t get on you.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've just driven through Savannah and stopped to eat, I've never stayed a night. The 2 year old may create a different dynamic. If we were to do a beach, which is better between Tybee and Hilton Head?BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 10:21 amIt really depends on the environment you want to be...beach or city. Re: GS Road Trip Ideas
Since two year old in the group, I would go Hilton Head. More restaurants...and may actually have some holiday things going on during Thanksgiving. Never been to either beach during the fall/winter holidays
I would Google Thanksgiving in Hilton Head to see if things to do.
On a related note, wear full body armour when you head to Stink-boro...just kidding of course
