The last we had a lot riding on a season, we had crappy weather and Georgia stopped our unbeaten season. Hell no, no bad weather. If somebody wants bad weather football the Bears, Packers, and Broncos, or the NY teams.

I don’t care what the weather is as long as we smoke that pipe.

The opening move is so much more important than the late ones. Last week JMU opened at 12 quickly dropped to 9.

Georgia State. Mountaineers came out for warm ups shirtless. Cold as you know what. By 4th qtr Ga St was ready to get on the bus.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 12:44 pmWe had the playoff game against Western Illinois or something and it snowed a lot, otherwise I don't remember a great track record with snow or very cold weather or rain.

Trying to figure out if I could find tickets and decent parking for a good price. Then try to convince the wife and 2 boys into being cold that day.

Ga Southern is really struggling right now. Especially on offense which should be their strength. A lot of their fans are mad at the coaching staff for letting down the players...
All of that goes out the window. We have to get revenge for them ending our season last year. We are playing for the championship for the 4th straight week.

Always scared this season when a team is supposed to be struggling on offense. Recently D is greatly improved so I'll hope for the best.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:41 amGa Southern is really struggling right now. Especially on offense which should be their strength. Wins/losses/ranks/ etc never matter in this game. We need to come in fired up and never let off the gas. Need to contain all emotions from the JMU game and play the way we have been.

Coastal's going to run into a seriously pissed off JMU. We likely control out destiny again. Get that ring!

I am glad both games are at same time. Just focus on what we need to do.

Turning our focus and attention to hate week!
All three rating services (espn, Sagarin and Massey) have us as favorite from 7 to 11 points. 6 common opponents and we are 4-2 and they are 3-3. If you look at season long statistics we are slightly better offensively and defensively. If you look at the last 3 games as common opponents, our defense has really turned the corner.
That said, we will be looking at the air raid this weekend. Offense will need to continue to produce and we will need to be able to run the ball some, and our defense will need to be ready to see passing all over the field. I would love to see us get the same pressure we got on JMU without having to blitz. Turnovers in this game will be key.
We owe them. It's been a thing of beauty to see us grow up. Just need to finish strong. Time to go to work....

Re: Georgia Southern, 3:30 p.m. kickoff, ESPNU
To me this game is the make or break between an interesting but just OK season or a great season. Hopefully we don't lose to our biggest rival at home, in a huge game on national TV, and AE day.
There is so much at stake here. The outcome of the JMU - CCU game just makes it all bigger. Saturday will either be tremendously rewarding or tremendously disappointing.
I believe our coaches and players will be prepared and up to the task. This is why we play. Let's put our App State stamp on it.
