The way they worded it they sounded like they are claiming there were 28k at GameDay in the morning with Kirk, Des, Pat, etc. There is no way in heck that they had 28k fans show up there. Just look at that area. Do you think there were as many fans there as in the stands for the game? No way. They probably had about 10,000 show up.
On that note, I feel like College Gameday has really lost some sheen over the last few years. Pat Macafee is annoying, and the crowds aren’t as fun. If I were in charge, I’d forget “best game of the week” and go to the best atmosphere/culture each week. Look at the crowd in Harrisonburg or Boone last year compared to two weeks ago when they went to Tuscaloosa for the 400th time. There looked like maybe 500 ppl there. Give the little schools with good programs more love. I’d love to see more game days at Sun Belt, AAC, MAC, and FCS schools.

Re: Gameday App @ JMU /Game discussion
They had a really good crowd. I just think they were inflating it because of the narrative they wanted to push. If they had a crystal ball and knew we would win I believe they would not have come to JMU. I know this was an epic game but the reality is they wanted to shine a light on JMU because they thought JMU was about to go undefeated in the Sun Belt and they had a huge story to push with them getting snubbed. ESPN has now quickly moved on because their narrative is gone. JMU was starting to annoy the media (outside of ESPN) and many schools with it so you are welcome CFB world.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 7:53 amRegardless, they had a huge turnout for Gameday in Harrisonburg.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 3:46 amI believe their numbers for the game but I am saying I don't believe they had that for College Game Day at 10am. Agreed. I did like how that guy who picked us kind of did a wrestling heel turn by luring them into thinking he was picking JMU but then picked us to win on Pat's show but for CGD I want a serious show. Pat should be a one time picker guest but being on every week has worn very thin.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 12:01 pmI didn’t mind him when he was just a contributor the last couple season. That’s just it. The WWE stuff works on the Pat Macafee show because that’s what his show is all about. College Gameday isn’t (or wasn’t) the Pat Macafee show. It was a lighthearted, but completely serious, celebration of college football. Now it’s Macafee yelling, poor old Corso bumbling, and the rest discussing sports bets and the CFP to no end.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 1:43 pmAgreed. McAfee…I watch that guy and think, “there have to be some skeleton bones in his closet, just waiting to reveal themselves.”
He should go work for WWF…he would fit in over there.

I'd say we are respected. JMU loses and is still in the AP top 25.

Or they are just in love with JMU. If we had done the same and had a first loss in game 11 to a 6-4 team we wouldn't even have been receiving votes.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 4:52 pmI'd say we are respected. JMU loses and is still in the AP top 25.
