Got the score wrong.
Got the spread close.
Got the team names spot on.

Did we play Marshall during the Randy Moss era?bigCasu wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 7:31 pmThe last third of the regular season is upon us and this is the time of the year when the championships are decided. Neither App State nor Marshall have looked like a division contending team. Yet the Sun Belt East remains wide open and could be for the taking. One would expect some teams to rise and separate themselves from the rest. This game will be a de facto elimination game for conference championship contention for whoever loses. It could be a fourth conference loss for Marshall or a third for App State, all to division foes. Like this series needed any more spice added to it. These historical juggernauts have routinely gotten into each other’s way since 1977. Marshall has won consecutive games in this series only one time when games were played in back-to-back years (1987-99). When Marshall won the Southern Conference in 1994, their only conference loss was to App State. Ten of the twenty-five games in this series have been decided by one score or less, and Saturday looks to be no different.

Yup! In fact his career highlight from Marshall is a wicked TD catch and run against us. You can see the banners from the fraternities hanging from Owens Field House in the background as he separates from everyone. Keep in mind that he was running away from our DBs like they were slow and we had some guys who went to the NFL from it. There was nothing he could not do for a WR.NewApp wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 5:17 amDid we play Marshall during the Randy Moss era?bigCasu wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 7:31 pmThe last third of the regular season is upon us and this is the time of the year when the championships are decided. That is great for 1996! I remember we had people back then who were still upset we were I-AA and thought App and Marshall belonged in I-A. Looked like those folks were right! If we had 23k today for a game we would think it is way low though. There are only about 3-4 G5 programs who have as good or better support than we do!
Unfortunately remember being at that one. He made us look bad.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 2:34 pmYup! In fact his career highlight from Marshall is a wicked TD catch and run against us. It's the full game. And they have that cool thing at the bottom that lets you fast forward. They also give the option to not watch it. Point? It's easy. I asked if Randy was with Marshall when we played them back in the day. Just wanted a yes or no.
