We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Moving on to Southern Miss
Well, it is homecoming, and it is time for payback for 1937.

If anyone has a spare ticket and has no intention of going then I am trying to get off work and likely could buy it from you or take it for free and then give Yosef Club the value of the ticket. I'll get a butt in a seat and help with funding YC.

Re: Moving on to Southern Miss
We could have had a very young freshman of 17 either just enrolled in school or on the football team. They would have been born in 1920 and would be 103 now. Not impossible to think an alum of App State or even the football team could still be alive. Unlikely, but if that were the case we should do something if only to show them on the video board, realizing that getting them to Boone from a likely nursing home or even a short trip from nearby could be difficult to say the least.
Just showing our oldest living alum that we know of with a short photo on the video board would be nice.
It is homecoming.
Hopefully we get this monkey on our back with Southern Miss and I can drop this. We came oh so close and then the hurricane happened.

Re: Moving on to Southern Miss
what's the extended forecast? USM has a history of canceling on short notice due to rain.
Last time they did it, it cost App and the SBC a whoooooole lot of money and exposure

Re: Moving on to Southern Miss
There is Hurricane Tammy in the Caribbean area but it should be gone by next week. It is not going to impact mainland North America. There is a storm north of Panama that is a 50/50 crap shoot for cyclone formation in the next 48 hours. Not suggested track on it yet. I don't see it being a problem at a level that would require cancelling like they did the one year. In the Pacific TS Norma will be all but died out I would think as it is over Mexico now and TD 18 in the Pacific should move away and not towards the eastern US.
Clearly we have a weather expert on the board that can give more specifics but I did not mind answering about tropical storms since that seems to be weather that bothers Southern Miss.

We might get lucky and have the hurricane cancel the game. Might save us some heartbreak.

This is the only game that I think App will win for the rest of the season. Southern Miss is awful. Like… so, so bad. Gardner Webb could probably beat Southern Miss.

Doesn't surprise me. Gardner Webb does have a top 5 NFL RB.

Re: Moving on to Southern Miss
Who? They got 2 good RBs but I don't see any way their RB is among top 5 drafted this year. This RB class is too good. Gaither won't get a Senior Bowl invite and I doubt he gets a combine invite./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 12:56 pmDoesn't surprise me. Gardner Webb does have a top 5 NFL RB.

Trying to induce action on Southern Miss after they lost by 52 points last Tuesday.
