Appalachian State University
App State Football Season Ticket Holders
App State Football
EVERONE, there are scammers out there and they are making thousands of dollars off App State fans every day. They are collecting thru @PayPal which leaves you with ZERO chance of recovering your funds and with minimal chance of recovering your funds thru your bank. Verify the seller before you buy.
DO NOT USE
Appalachian State Ticket Exchange or
Appalachian State Ticket Exchange 2023
DO NOT INTERACT WITH:
Veronica McGowen
Celeste LIscher
Sara Valderrama Loaiza
ALWAYS USE A CREDIBLE SITE like
Appstatesports.com App State Sports or
App State Football Season Ticket Holders
SPREAD THE WORD. STOP THESE SCAMMERS WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF COLLEGE SPORTS FANS.
While this is not exclusive to App State, this is our family and we must try to protect our own.

I would be fine with pinning this and adding any known scammers to the list.

Always amazing to see some of these people pop up on the ticket exchange thread when you otherwise never see them ever.

Appalachian State Ticket Exchange Can be good. I’d just only meet in person or see that you are mutual friends with someone.
The 2023 group is nothing but scammers and they ban you after you’ve been scammed or if you try to warn anyone.
Edit to say there is a 2023/2024 group now that is the same scammers as the 2023 group.

Appalachian State Ticket Exchange 2023 should be avoided. Appalachian State Ticket Exchange is ok. Of course take safeguards like checking the sellers Facebook page for info and number of posts, location, etc.. If you're still concerned, send your payment through PayPal as goods and services, not friends or family. You may be asked to pay more by the seller to make up for the fees PayPal charges the recipient but you'll have PayPal’s Purchase Protection program if it turns out to be a scam.
I sold all my season tickets for games I couldn't attend with no problems for me or my buyers on Appalachian State Ticket Exchange.

I passed by at least 2 people on the side of Stadium Dr holding signs looking to buy/sell tickets. Not trying to be judgy at all, but they definitely were not students and didn't look like typical fans. First thing that popped in my head was they were going to scam people with mobile ticket screen shots.

The Scam site is App State TicketS—with an “S”—exchange.
TicketS with an S!
There is an App State Ticket—NO “S” Exchange that is a third party site but I don’t think it is a scam site.
The Admins for the “S” site have odd names. They block comments. The wording and grammar on their admin posts are not good.
Scammers are the worst. But buyers have some personal responsibility to check out sites and do due diligence.

Has anyone reported these groups to FB? Not sure if they'd do anything about it but wouldn't hurt to let them know.

I had reported one. Just came back as it was not violating any community standards.

My wife ordered some clothes off a FaceBook ad she thought was Lululemon, but ended up being a knockoff. I don’t buy anything through Facebook. I use Stubhub, Seat Geek, and Vivid Seats. Or I just come here.

Yes, people are reporting to Facebook and to PayPal. They do not care. The scams continue and are hitting our App
fans hard.

Facebook ya'll. Why would you think that would be a safe place to make a financial transaction?

If you’re sending anyone money for tickets through PayPal make sure to use goods and services. It takes a few percent off what the seller gets but if you get scammed your purchase is protected. Never ever send someone money on PayPal friends and family for tickets unless it’s an in person exchange

May we please move on from this and un-sticky the thread or delete all together, it's unsightly and unwelcoming for our football board to be headed up with a Scammers thread every day for almost a year now. We get it already. Thanks in advance. GAS

This may need to be bumped. Had someone spamming one of the scammer FB groups on my posts looking for ETSU parking, among many others.
