Non qualifiers
Went over to the ECU main message board for a few minutes and discovered why they lost to us yesterday and the time before. In their minds they are in a FAR superior conference, have way more financial resources, and overall more prestige than us. Yet they can’t win.
The rationale is because the Sun Belt and App State take non qualifiers and the AAC does not so we get talented players that would never be accepted at ECU or any other AAC school. Therefore, it is not a level playing field because of their far superior academic standards.
Thoughts?

Re: Non qualifiers
Look at Easy Credit University with the academic smack talk. It’s so cute when they try.

Re: Non qualifiers
For ECU to try and bring academics into any discussion shows you just how stupid they really are.
Give 'em hell!

Re: Non qualifiers
Our athletic department does not take NQs after the debacle with Coach Capel and our basketball program. This couldn't be further from the truth.

Re: Non qualifiers
I believe this is the same argument NCSU & UNCCH used when they got beat by the CUSA Pirates. Funny to hear fans of a program who allowed NQ complain about it now that the AAC doesn’t allow NQ. I was under the impression App did not allow NQ or that was the rumored policy under Satt. Any insiders, please correct me if this is wrong. Not sure if it relates but App struggled to get transfers last year due to academic credit hours not transferring over. Pirate fans act like App created fake classes to win at sports!
Understandably, ECU fans are looking for any excuse and for good reason. We’d be pissed off too if App was consistently losing to less resourced teams and App’s ADs made multiple stupid contract extensions for average to below average coaches. To put it in perspective, MH makes more than App’s entire staff

Re: Non qualifiers
App football has historically very rarely allowed NQs...
Capel abused it for basketball and made it a global policy in the entire athletic department. There no no NQs allowed at App. Period. Zero.

I'm tired of getting beat by Coastal Community College, and that's exactly what she was back when I went to APP.moonshine wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 11:29 amI believe this is the same argument NCSU & UNCCH used when they got beat by the CUSA Pirates. Thanks, I couldn’t remember the exact details but now it’s coming back. Imagine a Carolina guy trying to do a work around on the academics.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 11:33 amApp football has historically very rarely allowed NQs...

Re: Non qualifiers
An ECU message board touting their academic prowess. ECU is the poster child of back-up schools for graduating HS seniors.

Re: Non qualifiers
93.9% acceptance rate at EZU.
66% graduation rate
84.7% acceptance rate at App.
72.2% graduation rate
Anyone can do a deeper dive into the stats if they want but it paints a pretty clear picture. I just figured these two would give a good idea of who is taking anyone with a pulse and which one is actually getting more students through to graduation.
Side note... all schools are higher than they used to be for acceptance because of online degree programs.

Re: Non qualifiers
There has been a historic reality dissassociation east of I-85 for decades. Simple Google searches show the academic superiority of the top 3..UNC NCSU AppState to the rest of the UNC schools. Deflection from a poor athletic program due to other schools bending rules is predictable. AND not worthy of response. It’s like “stolen” elections.

Re: Non qualifiers
Why do you do this?
Yes excuses, it’s what losers do. ECU was the loser yesterday and instead of face the issues with their program they have created a narrative that their opponent has an academic advantage.
Excuses are for losers.

Re: Non qualifiers
They were saying the same thing in 2021. It's ironic considering their glory days in the 80's and 90's were fueled by PQ's and Prop 48 kids.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?
