We better treat this game as a “giant killer” game. Wyoming has a great program and has proven to be a top 10 (at least) G5 team so far this season. Hopefully defense can keep the momentum rolling next week.

They are down 10-7 at half. So definitely hanging with big dog.

This is going to be a tough one. I can't imagine Nate is going to be able to carry the ball 25 time at 7,200 feet.

Wyoming struggles to put up points. They started the year without their top two RBs. Their QB is a decent but he is dinged up. The backup is a monster and is more of a run unit threat. The defense is stout up front. As a team, they play hard for 60 minutes and will grind out a competitive effort. They will be a good prep for a JMU type game.

I think we are playing much better than last year and expected a two score win against ECU. Wyoming is much better than ECU. I hope they are demoralized after the Texas loss and not angry.

Assume they can’t go out a day or two earlier to adjust for elevation. That may suck. Hopefully they have some tricks for that.

They should be out there a full 24 hours prior to kick. Granted they will be in Fort Collins and not Laramie. The elevation change affects people differently.

I don't see Wyoming being demoralized. I think App has the talent to win but we really need to clean up some things. Being the homer I am, I think we do. It seems to me we have made progress in each game and that re-built D is finding chemistry. I was nervous in the first have against ECU because we were letting their QB gash us with his legs and we didn't seem to be getting him off the field. Second half made me much happier. Good adjustments! Hopefully, NO TURNOVERS against Wyoming.

Honestly, I think our offense can move it on any G5 team. This team has the potential to be more balanced than we have seen in a long time. I have been cautiously optimistic all season and I remain so.

I saw a post on another thread where someone comments that he didn't see any "guaranteed wins" in the SunBelt East. All I can think is that this is EXACTLY what we moved up for! Competition with peer program! If we wanted "guaranteed wins" we should have stayed in the SoCon. I don't really think that's what anyone wants, and I'm not really intending to jump on that specific post or poster. It's a mentality that we all fall into at times. Just saying that I agree there are no guaranteed wins, but I also don't see a single game that I think we shouldn't be able to win. Show up and win one game at a time. 1-0 each week. That's what it means. This game will be great prep for out conference schedule.

GO APPS! BEAT THE COWBOYS!

Hope they are better than me. Took me about 48hrs when I went to Jackson Hole and that’s only in the 5,500 range. Wonder if we have a way to go do some practice/running at the top of Beech?

ESPN has 59.9% for Wyoming.
No line out yet on there.

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t pretend to know exactly what the body has to do to adjust to that type of altitude but spending some time on Beach Mt this week sounds like a good idea.

The Cowboys will try and run it down our throats with that big O line, our D line better be ready. Hope Sloan has a good rotation ready. Texas finally wore them down with their depth .

I'm going to leave this alone after this one. If you stacked Beach Mt. on top of Boone, the elevation would be around 7,700 ft. That's 500 ft. higher than Laramie. We're going to learn a lot about our off season conditioning and our depth.

Remember Wyoming is coached by the same guy that built the NDSU dynasty and is a really good friend of Coach Moore.

There's a reason Wyoming is good. They are well coached, have the same philosophies as us (blue collar, pound the ball, wear the other team down), and have a proven winner at the top.

It's going to be a damn good game.

The key to adjusting to altitude is where you sleep. If we can find a place up on Beech and Sugar for the whole team to stay Wednesday and Thursday nights that would be a big help.

I was at the last Wyoming game out there. 2004, i think. Elevation was no problem.

I have suffered from elevation sickness at 14,000 ft. though. Its like the worst hangover you have ever had. And you have two fears when you experience it: 1) that yer gonna die and 2) that yer not gonna die.
