Was a bit worried after last week, but after yesterday fully agree. Gameplan and execution were both good. Just came down to a coin flip and arguably a non-call there at the end. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I watched Wyoming play Texas Tech. They play hard and won’t quit.

Our ceiling is good enough to win every game left on our schedule.

Need to bring that level of execution each week and take better angles on defense.

Love Joey A. Kid has "it". No hesitation and throws a pretty ball. Many of those deep balls were just great pass break ups by Carolina DBs. In his small sample size, he is the best I've seen since 08.
I thought he looked great too, no fear, good arm and can run. He’s gonna be a good one. Just curious though what you all thought about his decision making? I guess if he can get the ball where he wants it no problem, but damn he threw into double and even triple coverage more than once. Like I said no fear.

I think he’s everything you just said. He’s very talented and super confident, which leads to him throwing the ball into some questionable coverages. I think we will see him throw some really dumb looking INTs this year, but we will also see some amazing passes and catches for the exact same reason.

I think he will learn from his miscues. I thought he showed fantastic promise. Not much to complain about from what I saw

Hats off to the players and staff. That was about as good as you could look in a loss. Man we are competitive with Carolina. After two games, my only real concern is running Nate 25 times a game.

Great objective post for those scoring at home.

If we get a couple of backs healthy I think you’ll see his carries will decrease. But he looks great and gets stronger as the game goes.

I think we will see incredible growth from Joey this year. Don’t discount how huge it is to have Frank Ponce coaching him up all season. A few times last night, all he needed to do was hit his check down. That will come, if he keeps giving his all, he will be VERY good.

GO APPS!!

How many years of eligibility does he have left?

Anyone know if there’s any reason for Kanye not getting touches to give Nate a break? That big of drop off in production?

Because Kanye isn’t ready for that roll. There is more to playing the position than taking a handoff and go. He is still learning the position.

Not to look ahead, but that Wyoming game will tell us the most about this team. They will be a tough opponent, on the road, at elevation and easy for this team not to get up for given the lack of any real history/proximity.
Yessir and they like to run the ball. We have time but need to get batter at stopping the run.

“Joey Dimes”
Yeah. I've called him a few things. Trying to see what sticks. Joey Dimes has been my most go to. Joey "Big time" Dimes. Joey Quatro
I like "Joey Bag of Touchdowns"

We understand not playing against UNC (kinda) as it’s a big game, P5, close game, TV, cameras, has to block etc…

But if you’re telling us he’s not ready to run the ball v an FCS GWEBB up 21 in the 4th quarter then that’s a problem. He got those carries and time last year in those types of game scenarios, what happened? Is he dinged up or recovering from injury? Just doesn’t make any sense.

If you listened to Mountaineer Talk, Haines said that he is still learning the blitz pickup piece. It’s not a problem. It’s part of the maturation process. Those carries last year were under completely different circumstances. Putting someone back there that can’t identify and pickup a blitz will get your QB hurt.
