Our group walked right in the stadium and no one scanned our tickets.
That is some 2013 level stuff! Too many people, not enough staff.

No security at entrances to stands. People loitering at entrances and in front of stands on west side blocking views of field. People trying to and sitting wrong seats. Men’s bathroom stall doors under 205 that were broken off last season not replaced. No one except fans to enforce no smoking and squatting. That leads to trouble and there was some trouble in 205.

$5 for a bottled water is just greedy. The Falcons charge $2 while the Panthers allow two 16oz water bottles in per person.
We would have to have a 200 million athletic endowment to be greedy. I suggest we are just trying to pay the power bill…..
I wonder how much money App nets on total concessions for a sold out game. How much does the athletic program get as a percentage?

If we need 5 dollar water to pay the power bill I suggest we need to cut expenses.

It’s my understanding App pulled a “Wofford” yesterday on the east side. Not sure if this was an issue on the west side. Apparently a woman received a police escort out of the stadium for getting belligerent over the water fountains being turned off after the concessions sold out of water. Sad and inexcusable if this is true.

Charge whatever the market will allow for your goods but you better have a contingency plan, like turning the damn fountains on, if your inventory gets sold out. Not many people will find it fan friendly having to drink bathroom sink water because leadership lacks the foresight to anticipate such problems.

Do the metal detectors even work? My metal wallet did not set it off.
Water fountains on East Side were never turned on (they were off last year as well). Totally unacceptable. Had to walk to the west side twice to fill a water bottle. While it was a comfortable day in Boone, it was hot in the full sun in the East side.
Concession stand lines were way too long (we had this fixed last year for Carolina) probably because everyone had to get in line to buy water, when they couldn’t bring their own bottle in.

At halftime there was no Gatorades left on the west side. All gone. Coolers in the walkin shop were 75% empty on everything.

West side entrance looked a mess and I know people who waited 30 minutes to enter the stadium. I hugged right and was through in less than 5 minutes.

Metal detectors might as well have not been there from what I saw.

We really need to consider a 5pm start for the first game each year. It was brutally hot on the East Side and the concessions issues just compounded it. I thought we handled it much better last year, but this isn't the first time we've had these issues on a hot day. I think biggest issue is they underestimated the crowd size for this GW game.

Starting at 5pm would alleviate a lot of these issues and still allow people enough time to get home off the mountain.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

I usually get to the stadium earlier than yesterday. We were in a mass of people waiting to get n the east side. Then people start trying to move through the crowd rather than behave. Then other people see it and try until I said “no you wait just like all of us do”. Drunk people and that situation may not mix well.

Temp stands under NEZ give a good look. Maybe permanent stands one day. And fill them up with students.

I wouldn’t think so for anything on ESPN+.

Did anyone purchase the white hoodie "item of the game"? We intended to purchase one, but after seeing how thin they were and the price of $65, we didn't purchase. Has this replaced the old game day tees?

How do you underestimate the crowd size to an already announced “sell out” game? The problems on the east side have NEVER been handled. Water issues were just JV level incompetence. There…yes, I said it. Fix the flow of lines…parallel the lines with the concessions and bathrooms…not perpendicular to the foot traffic flowing under the East stands. If you want to have a revenue stream with concessions, make it available in a speedy manner…otherwise people will choose not to buy things because of the hassles…which is counterintuitive to the revenue potential. You have to problem solve quickly in this line of work and I have yet to see it get any better in 10 years. Interestingly enough, beer vendors seem to have more staff than food concessions area. Probably because that’s where the money is…oh and did anyone notice paying tax when using debit cards on east side? When and why did this start???

I swear, every year it seems like we just sit around during the offseason and then are surprised when a football game comes around.

A lot of the things that are wrong don't even cost any money to fix. That's unacceptable at any level of business.

A couple seasons ago we quit using the concessions due to how poorly run it was and how much game you'd miss to get anything.
Last year seemed to be better so we started using them again. Looks like I get to start saving money again since yesterday was back to sucking.

These problems are the responsibility of the Chancellor and the Athletic Director. Every year it is the same thing and normally the same lame excuses. Lines getting thru the gates on the West side were terrible and potentially dangerous with students pushing older people and each other out of the way to get into the stadium faster. I am so tired of the excuses. In addition to the stadium/crowd management, I'll add that we had no scores of outside games and no in game stats. Only non-football thing that was better was the band. They played much more often than last year and they sounded great. Singing the Alma Mater after the game was a very nice touch. I've never heard that before. Would be nice if our Chancellor would show them some outward support. I appreciate their hard work.

If money is a problem, be transparent on it. Charge everyone $1 to bring a refillable bottle in. Say only 1/3 of people do it, that's $10K right there. In exchange, put in nice water bottle filling stations.

I got one but that price made my head spin. If thats going to be the price each time for the “item of the game” thats my last item of the game for this year.
