Educated guess: No D-1 school in either state NC or SC has the majority of its attending fan base further away than App.

Other schools have more games on TV as well so they don't need to listen to the radio.

I'm telling you voice with no video is the wave of the future. Proud to be a the forefront of this exciting NEW technology.

Also, no one watches in person OR listens to UNCC football in the Charlotte market.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Exactly this. Charlotte isn't on TV any more than us. And yet we are on the airwaves more often than them in their "own" city. I say "own" lightly as they are really in Concord/Harrisburg.

If Charlotte fans did listen it would be on car radio as they commute home.

That was my first thought. I remember listening to the Auburn game back in the days when the only two choices were be there, or listen on the radio. I also remember the season when the SoCon partnered with a few obscure PBS affiliates across the Carolinas for live "broadcasts". It is the legacy of having no alternatives.

I often listen when I can't be in front of the TV.

Also like to listen during away games, since most of the other TV PBP crews around the SBC leave something to be desired.

I believe Witten has done a fantastic job behind the mike, particularly given he's had to follow a legend like Jackson. Hall does a nice job, but I really liked McElfresh due to the personality and comedic relief he brought as a color analyst.

I agree with Bootsy, this is more directly related to quality of the App broadcast than the lack of interest in other school's fanbases. Witten and Hall do a nice job.

I mute the TV broadcast and sync the radio broadcast. That goes double for away games, but in a good year, broadcasts are moot for at least a few home games, since I'm at KBS with the rest of you knuckleheads.

I agree with this. I always tune the radio in sync with my muted espn+ broadcast. Same with basketball. Our radio announcers are AWESOME!!!

App football is listened to and watched more in WNC than any other regional sports other than Charlotte FBC,LOL.MY 40 would disagree.I like watching the Canes but nobody much gets Bally sports around here.

Fewer TV games seems like the obvious explanation, but I 100% agree that the production value is excellent and Adam is an absolutely top-notch PBP guy. Add me to the list who often mute the TV and sync with the radio feed.

When Hall and Jackson are on ESPN+ their broadcast is by far the best compared to the other Sunbelt ESPN+ broadcasts in football. The ESPN+ games at Kidd Brewer Stadium are better than any of the other ESPN+ Sunbelt broadcasts and I believe it is because of their radio broadcast experience. They are used to painting pictures in words and it translates well to television.

I may able to see what is going on, but I would like for you to tell what is going on too.

How do you guys do this? - I've never been successful in my efforts - And I agree that if David and Avery are doing the game I really enjoy listening to them

I use "The varsity" app on my phone. Pause the varsity app until it lines up. Sometimes I have to restart the app if it gets out of line....but rarely.

I almost exclusively get my App games by streaming the radio broadcast. It is rare that I ever watch - other than watching highlights/condensed games on YouTube afterwards, or the rare Saturday I can devout actually to attending games. I just prefer hearing it while doing other things to sitting and watching. And our team does a great job. But then again I also prefer listening to audiobooks and podcasts over watching TV, so maybe it's just one of my quirks.
