I could not find evidence he did based on their website.

Not close.

Home team - Coakley

Going to take a futuristic view on visitor: Maye
You are right it’s not close but you spelled Coakley wrong. Lol. Corrected it.

Did you see Dexter play in person or just Armanti? If not, go back and watch his games against Wake Forest, ETSU, GSU, Marshall, Furman, etc.

I think for opponents it has to be Moss right now when you consider what he did in the pros and college. Maye could be the guy in the future though but not there yet.

Cast your votes for most legendary players to suit up and play at KBS all time. Legendary can fit your own definitions but I am going with the NFL standard and with that said, my pick for the home team is LB -Dexter Coakley. For the opponent...my pick is HOF WR - Randy Moss.
100% with you on this. Coakley set a standard that even AE has not been able to equal. I love AE but he has to be a close second.

I think Adrian Peterson and TO both have to be honorable mention for opponent.

The question is the most legendary player. Not the best all-around, or greatest. While Dex is the best I’ve seen play — he and I graduated in the same ceremony, so safe to say I saw him play a time or two — Armanti is, by far, the most legendary.

As for the opponent, it’s Moss right now Although, going on my legendary performance metric, which we can really only judge on one or two games over a career, Maye made a big statement. I’m just not ready to crown him. For one, Chase basically equaled him, and two, he’s a damn hole.

It really comes down to what is considered the definition of "legendary."
If your talking the most legendary college player it's hard to argue against Dex or AE. Those dudes were bad ass college players and everyone knew it at the time. I don't think I was at the game involving TO or Moss. They certainly went on to NFL greatness. Did they put up big stats in the game/games played at KBS? I think to be considered legendary you have to consider what the guy did in the pros. They become the subject of the old man story- I remember when...

For me, it's:
1. AE
2. DC

And yes, I've seen them both in person. I lean towards AE because of the number of times he pulled off the improbable. Dexter was everywhere, but the tackles weren't of a miraculous type like AE pulled off.

I have tried to google the top all time college QB's based on statistics. I found a few lists but AE is not there. Is this because he played FCS? Where does he rank if all levels of college football are considered? Of course we all acknowledge his greatness and he's considered the GOAT for App State but outside of our world you would find very few people who remember him. He made the game look easy.

Drake Maye - UNC

Freshman first game ever - hung 60 plus points on the black n gold, will be Heisman and 1st round pick most likely.

You witnessed greatness without knowing it at the time.
No, just no. While I will credit Maye with being a good qb and having a good freshman season, toward the end of the year when defenses had enough film on him he became somewhat pedestrian. UNC whimpered to the finish line losing their last 4 (including the bowl) with Maye throwing for less yards in those 4 games than in all the other previous game (202, 233, 268, 206). I doubt he wins a Heisman, and I am not even sure he ever makes it to New York. He needs to put up 2 more years of good play before he is anywhere near the level of Randy Moss.
So…Denver and CharlotteApp05, how good are your seats for the Eric Church concert in September?
Ha - Have to say I laughed. I do love Eric Church and went to his concert in Charlotte last year, but I’m more of a State fan than UNC homer if I’m pulling for someone other than App.

My view on AE is, when we went to games at the time, we actually knew he would be a legend. His own teammates called him legend. He won us 2 nattys and took down Michigan. He was basically the one that evolved the qb position. I knew Marquisse Williams family and when he visited Michigan, they tried to sell him on being the next shoelace, who was the next AE. That came from Michigan staff. They hired Rich Rod, who we copied the spread after at WV. AE changed the game, although he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

With Maye, I tried to take a different approach. I didn’t see Moss or TO. I did see Maye and was blown away. He may or may not continue his trajectory, but that game was legendary. I was more into that game than I have been in years and my wife has never been more embarrassed of me. So maybe Maye isn’t the best ever to come, but yeah the game lived up to the hype and from UNC it was all him.

Wish I could find on YouTube or somewhere the game video of Richie Williams passing 40 of 45 against FU in 2004? That was an NCAA passing record for 28 consecutive completions at the time. Think he threw for over 400 yds in that game. Any help with a footage link is greatly appreciated.
KICK ASS!!!

Am I missing one here? Did you mean the FU game when Richie passed for 40/45 instead?

Ok...my bad I'm clarifying my own misread.
You meant when Richie Williams passed for 40 of 45 vs FU in '04. And the opponent beat down on us in the 2010 playoff vs Villanova when Szczur killed us.
KICK ASS!!!

I consider legendary for what they did in college and pros. Part of the AE legend is a great QB who moved in NFL and ended up getting cut to go play in Canada. Remember that Dexter played a long time and was a Pro Bowler. In college Dexter was legendary for monster games against big time teams weekly. Teams ran away from him and schemed against him. Both are greats and should be on the App Mount Rushmore.

My vote is for ol' # 01 Grady Davis, could throw a football over the mountain, App All American 4 years running, never missed a game, In HS he coulda won State if coach had just kept him in the game. Heck of a Rep for App when dealing with other college AD's.
Grady Davis got UNCC into the American Athletic.

I may be in minority on this thought..I believe one can be legendary at college level OR pros...not an AND...There are many players that are legendary college players that did not have long career in NFl...and vice versa...not primary starter in college but great NFL player.

Not football, but J'Den Cox wrestled for Mizzou in Varsity Gym against App. He went on to get a Bronze Medal in the 2016 Olympics and won multiple World Championships.

Probably going to end up being Drake Maye honestly. He's an almost sure fire 1 or 2 pick next year.

After him, for me, I'd say Mark Richt, though obviously as a coach. That was cool. David Njoku was also a beast up close. Can see why he's getting paid like a top TE in the NFL.

Brandon Bridges as well. For one game even Tom Brady couldn't have outperformed him.
