EDGE: Nick Hampton, App State
Hampton had a down season in 2022 which still saw him post 39 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and seven sacks with three forced fumbles and 26 pressures. Hampton is a tweener at the edge position and it shows in his versatile nature at only 6-4, 235 pounds, he’s going to and likely will add weight before the combine. Hampton features one of the best bend and pass rush move traits in the entire class. He also has experience in soft zone coverage which will be an enticing development for NFL teams. Over 46 career games he racked up 175 tackles, 40 tackles for loss, 26.5 sacks, 11 breakups, three recoveries, seven forced fumbles, 134 pressures and 101 run stops. Hampton will be a great fit for numerous 3-4 teams that can utilize his quick step and speed to win at the point of attack. He’ll rise a lot higher than his current fifth round projection.
Team Fits: Packers, Lions, Giants

5th round is low unless he tests poorly at combine. I wonder why they don’t have him in round 3 already.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 2:38 pmhttps://twsn.net/2022/12/10-defensive-2 ... t-sleepers

From Walter Football Mock Draft
With the 82nd pick ---
NFL Team Logo for Buccaneers Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Nick Hampton, LB, Appalachian State Appalachian State
Lavonte David is an impending free agent, so the Buccaneers will need to find a replacement if he leaves.
Nick Hampton is a very versatile linebacker.

I was thinking more because a lot of these media box score scout and are scared to be way off what everyone else has than anything. Nick has more upside than Jackson does so I expect him to go higher.

I always have to laugh at "At only 6'4", 235" like that's an incredibly small person.

Still not small but he is actually 6’2 1/4. He isn’t close to 6’4. Not sure where someone got that he is that tall. He was measured by scouts last spring and at the Senior Bowl.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 8:37 amI always have to laugh at "At only 6'4", 235" like that's an incredibly small person.

Yeah I saw that on NFL Draft Scout, I was thinking that'd be a tall LB.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 9:28 amStill not small but he is actually 6’2 1/4. He isn’t close to 6’4. Sometimes we would like to be called small or maybe normal.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 8:37 amI always have to laugh at "At only 6'4", 235" like that's an incredibly small person.
I do assume his draft prediction will go up with some weight added and a good showing at combine.

He's already added 25+ pounds from his playing weight... and gained some speed still...biggie wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 12:34 amSometimes we would like to be called small or maybe normal.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 8:37 amI always have to laugh at "At only 6'4", 235" like that's an incredibly small person.

His combine may push him to a 2nd round valuation from what I am hearing from the staff...
