Not as good as the Atwater threads.

Re: Spring Ball
The Sloan presser had some good stuff, especially about modernizing defenses for modern offenses.

Re: Spring Ball
That's some juicy stuff from Sloan. I love the mentality, "the standard will not be compromised, adjusted or minimized, gotta play fast, play physical and violent, solid and sound. These are non-negotiable to have a chance to win."

Re: Spring Ball
I realize there were people crying about SC bringing back "retreads" like Ponce and Sloan.
But from where I'm standing, both of them are making all the right noises.
I'm encouraged about these guys being back up on the mountain. We may not get credit for returning as many players as some of our rivals, but there is a LOT of talent in the program now and we have a staff who knows what to do with it.
Looking forward to this time next year, I believe Matt Greenhalgh is going to get a fair amount of attention from other programs. A lot of good things are already happening in S&C: badly-needed changes are being made to workout regimens, the players love him and that dude is a difference maker.

Why didn’t we have these processes in place the last couple years? Did we have a previously bad S&C program/hire?Bootsy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 7:00 pmI realize there were people crying about SC bringing back "retreads" like Ponce and Sloan.

Re: Spring Ball
A few years back we tried to go "cheap" - my opinion , and got way behind. Not a place where you can cut corners , as important as any function in the program - again my opinion .311neers wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 7:02 pmWhy didn’t we have these processes in place the last couple years? Lettuce give the dude some space and see what he can mustard up! He will no doubt keep us out of a pickle and most likely lead us to some rings!

Re: Spring Ball
I remember the story of when the new S&C coach came in after that guy left, players were throwing up during the new S&C's coach's warmups.
That new S&C coach saved Satterfield's job in 2014. He said it would take six months to get the players into shape. He was hired in April 2014. Six months later was October 2014 when the team was 1-5.
