On a very serious note. I hope he is informed on day one that we do NOT tolerate the behavior that is accepted and maybe even expected in Statesboro. All joking aside APP is a totally different environment and our players ( and fans for that matter ) are held to a much higher standard. Being that he also played there I would hate to see that GS attitude creep into our program. Looks like a good coach, I just hope he fits our culture.

Anyone here have access to the “Flight Line” on Georgia Southern’s message board? It’s locked to non members. Would be curious as to their thoughts.
You have to have a certain number of teeth missing to gain membership.

I would dare say that we could use a little injection of attitude coming off a down year. Respectful, competitive arrogance is not a bad thing.

Yup! It was mentioned earlier in the season that we lacked "nasty" play. Not dirty, cheating play, but that tough, nasty, dawg-in-em attitude.

Let’s not act like we are holier than thou and everyones buddy on the field. We need that fight on the DL that we missed last season. Every program believes they are held to a higher standard than the other. We may be off the field but on the field we need to hit them in the mouth

Makes no sense what you are saying. He's a coach and hand picked by Sloan who was also there. I know its a hated rival but cmon.
Has nothing to do with hatred. It has to do with culture and theirs is not something to look up to. He existed in it so it is something I think about.

https://www.underdogdynasty.com/sun-bel ... rs-rivalry

He knows the rivalry; he beat App five times in his five years playing For Georgia Southern. The only loss was when his pizza was stomped upon; he may have been on the bus that the goal post went through the window too.

It is actually pretty awesome that he gets to see App from the inside the Mountaineer. One thing for sure is he understands what it is to win and how it feels to lose. I imagine he remembers that one loss more than he remembers the victories against Appalachian State.

For me, the first hint that something was not right with the team was that moment early in the Texas State game when our receiver (forgot who exactly) was basically assaulted by half the defense after the play. Not a single App player came to his aid. I was stunned by that. If ever there was a moment to take an unsportsmanlike penalty, that was it. They got up in our face and used intimidation tactics from the start in that game and we didn’t say boo. You can’t have that.

Several former players called that out on Twitter, wondering why no one came over to take up for their teammate. It was definitely a sign that something was off.

He needs to be thrown in Duck Pond today. And then tomorrow and Friday as well. Just to make sure.
Right! Is there any way to reverse the baptism in the disgusting gnat creek? Maybe a little time under Linville Falls?
Close, I believe it involves a priest, Linville falls sprinkling water, and Game of Thrones like walk of shame from Touchdown Yosef to the Jerry Moore statue.

I've thought about that play a lot since it happened. Obviously, you want cooler heads to prevail so no one gets thrown out and misses playing time, but the refs should've had a lot to do at that point.

Yeah, hindsight being what it is, a personal foul or unsportsmanlike conduct wouldn’t have hurt us since it would’ve been half the distance. It would have gone a long way to establish dominance but, instead, we rolled over like puppies.
WE ARE YOSEF!
