We have an OC this year who has the QBs he really likes so if the offense is going to click then it should happen with this combo.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 6:32 pmThe play we used most to integrate the TE this past season is a Satt/Ponce staple. I do agree and that is something folks have to stop doing. There are obstacles for every program and nothing will be perfect. Jerry Moore had the biggest obstacle this program ever had- Roachel Laney. If he can overcome that then we can overcome anything else!

An App fan on Reddit CFB said the Ponce re-hire is the first time they've been excited about a car with a Florida license plate driving up to Boone.

How long have you been head clown? Must have given someone a bag of peanutsDenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 8:15 pmI explained to all you clowns on other thread this was going to happen, crazy thing is the staff had no idea and the almighty AD didn't know this either.. contract was signed at cocktail hour had to iron out details and drop the news to Watts during the day.
Ware and Watts may start looking, tired of their same roles....

Sometimes you get a good opportunity and have to jump on it. Watts wouldn't have been a bad option but when a better one comes along obviously Clark had the authority to make the call...or he wouldn't have. AD hired Clark and Clark hired Ponce. So indirectly, AD still hired Ponce. It's a good day, take your victory lap on the early call.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 8:15 pmI explained to all you clowns on other thread this was going to happen, crazy thing is the staff had no idea and the almighty AD didn't know this either.. contract was signed at cocktail hour had to iron out details and drop the news to Watts during the day.

Re: Ponce Again
Still breaking in a bunch of new players - gonna take some time ...If you can see marked improvement at the EOY than at the beginning that's huge. Think about it OOC could end up 2-2 or 1-3appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 2:17 pmThe most serious question: With new coordinators, is 7-5 good enough?

Re: Ponce Again
You can get to 10 wins and it still not show marked improvement. Southern has a great record a couple years back due in large part to an insane turnover ratio.

If this includes a bowl win and a win over The Stink, I'd accept it. I wouldn't be HAPPY per se, but I would feel better than I did after this season.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 2:17 pmThe most serious question: With new coordinators, is 7-5 good enough?

Re: Ponce Again
I am very excited about all the additions the the coaching staff. It speaks volumes about our program for coaches to come back. However, you also need the Jimmy and the Joe's with talent and experience in addition to coaches. We potentially will have a RS Freshman starting at QB. Their will be a learning curve. There will some new faces on OL and defense overall. It will be interesting to see how team progresses from September to November. September OOC is not easy.

We just went 6-6 and lost Chase Brice. That is a Lofty ask, but I am about it! That's the thing, a lot of folls here said 2022 was a rebuilding year. I always thought '23 would be.311neers wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 3:18 pmWe just went 6-6 and lost Chase Brice. Re: Ponce Again
It starts and ends with Strength and Conditioning. OC and DC are flashier hires but Greenhaulgh will get us 10 wins. Spelling might be off on that one but close enough for this board.311neers wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 3:18 pmWe just went 6-6 and lost Chase Brice. That is a Lofty ask, but I am about it! Re: Ponce Again
Exactly true. It is the most important hire. People have to remember that the players are with the strength coach more than any other coach and it is year round. I would say it is the lifeblood of the program.mike87 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 4:02 pmIt starts and ends with Strength and Conditioning. I’m ok with 5 wins as long as those wins are against UNC, ECU, GaSo, Coastal and Marshall

Re: Ponce Again
I agree that MG should be a game changer starting now.The others may take a bit longer. They have two years unless the bottom just falls out .A winning season is the expectation for '23 , championship runs and bowl wins '24 and beyond.

Spelling and especially grammar are hallmarks of Yosef's Cabin. The grammar and spelling are so much better on this board than most message boards.mike87 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 4:02 pmIt starts and ends with Strength and Conditioning.
