55th in completion %
57th comp/game
42nd passing yards
21st yds/comp
28th yds per pass attempt

But yeah, he's some kind of God to you people. hAppy State will simply continue to be a stepping stone for coaches to spring board from, but never make the cut other than maybe the R&L Carriers bowl........... just cant stop shaking my head at the level of incompetence.
We know you are just a jealous commuter 49er.
Sucks huh?

Maybe Coach Clark can set out some mouse traps for the passers by that come to stir the pot for the sake of stirring it.

There are some stupid ass comments in this thread (teller), I’m embarrassed I wasted time reading them. CB will be remembered as one of the best, 2022 UNC and Troy finishes alone were among the most exciting ever in KBS history. Our record in 2022 had nothing to do with the QB.

Lack of ability to make plays with his legs hurt us.

The flip side of that coin is the need for him to do so is what hurt us.

Additionally, he placed passes with more accuracy than any previous App State signal caller. There are a lot of running QB's, who don't have anywhere near his accuracy.

We need a dual threat to win .

We won last year without one.

If we have a mobile QB that is passing challenged (see Clemson 2022), we need a better passer.... If we have a QB that is a great passer but limited mobility, we need a better runner...
Sure, I wish we had Chase the passer with Thomas the runner...That guy is probably playing at a P5 university....
Hopefully one of our young guys become that so we look back and say we struck gold in recruiting...

Frank has his guys in Burger and Aguilar. We will see is McHugh has the stuff that Frank can work with.

What did we win? No bowl, no SBC title, and not ranked. 2022 was a failure all around.

With that said, had we been better on defense I think we could have won with Chase but it still doesn’t take away the fact we had an awful season.

That’s what gives me some hope for 2023 that Ponce has the QBs he really likes.

I’m as referring to 2021. And yes, we were 6-6 because of the defense and probably are worse of it wasn’t for Chase.

And without his throws those may not have been close games, especially UNC.

CB is a helluva quarterback and we were lucky to have him. If you look at our offense...we never really built our offense around Chase's strength...we seemed to only throw vertical and try to beat secondary's over the top instead of installing an intermitted passing game ..its like we ran half an offense..took the plays away that we generally use in the past with our spread RPO. Our coaches didnt know how to use him effectively or at least were so gung ho about the run game even if it meant not finding other ways to win. I believe Clark will clean that up...and we will have a mobile QB and our offense will look more like it did prior to 2022

Bingo on a bunch of your point. Especially the intermediate pass game. We needed outlets , running back, that could catch the ball in the flat, in the screen game and in between the backers and safety’s. Defense simply loaded the box to stop the run and blitzed us like crazy when the only thing we could do was throw the long ball. For the record I’m a Chase Brice fan.

Was better in 2021 but still didn’t win the league or a bowl game so the standard we have set still came short. I think Chase helped with his arm for sure. I believe had he been more mobile we probably could have been a little more consistent scoring such as against A&M or not stalling out in 2H versus JMU but I agree defense is mostly to blame.

I appreciate Chase and I also am excited to see how we do with more mobility back there.

The interesting thing is the optimism by most for 2023 despite having the most assistant coach turnover since 2019 to 2020 changes when we had a HC change. We will have 6 new assistants plus a new strength coach.
