The cabin is very, very tame compared to other schools boards, especially on gamedays.

That doesn’t justify the toxicity and negativity here.

If coaches are reading message boards then we have bigger problems. They’re professionals, they should have at least some semblance of thick skin. They probably also understand we’re morons and don’t have a clue what we’re talking about.
Give 'em hell!

I would think that was the case if they were leaving for lateral or worse jobs. Dude is getting paid as much as Clark. Almost quadrupled his salary. Ponce tripled his to go back to his hometown, Peterson got I think 2 yrs at 800k. There are legitimate career moves and financial gains. Don’t think they are leaving Boone because their feelers are hurt

Re: Here we go again...Looks like the OC is out
The article read it's a 2 year contract @900,000 per year. As frustrating as it was for me yesterday this is not a lateral move but a step up to the SEC...bummed to see him go but wish him the best. I was texting with another poster and he made a good point. SC must be hiring some of the right people if they keep getting plucked by P5's.

They don't read it, and those that do or hear aren't bothered by it as much as you think.

They may not read the MMB but they are on twitter. Twitter is worse than the cabin and hard to ignore. I remember Shawn saying he had to stop reading twitter.appstatealum wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 8:54 amThey don't read it, and those that do or hear aren't bothered by it as much as you think.

The OC process should hopefully go a lot faster than the DC process. I just hope the OC continues to try to progress the offense and not keep it the same as we saw late last season.

Yes, most coaches are active on Twitter for recruiting reasons etc. We can all improve our attitudes by staying off it, hahagoapps93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 9:01 amThey may not read the MMB but they are on twitter. Re: Here we go again...Looks like the OC is out
This reminds me of those posts during the season when someone is like “we need to be focused on our NEXT opponent, not XYZ team in 3 weeks”.
Like….no. the team does. But not us. We have zero impact on the outcome.
We’re just a bunch of yahoos on a message board arguing about a game.

The ones that attack the student athletes are the embarrassment to the University. We should never ever cuss out our student athletes or try to cancel them like some did. That was a huge issue this year from a select group on twitter.goapps93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 9:01 amThey may not read the MMB but they are on twitter. College football coaches work longer hours than most of us. If they have time to be on Yosefs Cabin, we are hiring the wrong people.

That is probably accurate, but it wouldn't surprise me if there is someone in the athletic department who monitors social media, including message boards.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 9:36 amCollege football coaches work longer hours than most of us. I like to keep things on the high road myself, but if any coach leaves a job based on what fans on a message board are posting, he's really in the wrong profession.

Re: Here we go again...Looks like the OC is out
I don't see Barbay leaving as anything other than..
1. He is tripling his income
2. He is moving up to SEC, the highest level of college competition in the world
3. He is definitely advancing his career in terms of resume for a possible HC if that is his aspiration.
Assuming he liked App, SC and Boone, leaving that is the only negative but if the man wants to advance his career this is a no brainer.
As has been said, this is a mark of success for App State football proving we are viewed as a great proving ground for up and coming coaches. It sucks but that is our cost of success.

Come on, this board is very tame compared to most programs of our stature. Like comparing CLT to Philly.

No coach is leaving due to the MMB.
They are leaving for money and opportunity.
My fiscal contribution far outweighs the impact I have on the program posting here.
