Are we talking 4 years ago or 10 years ago now? I agree if over a longer period.
it all runs together to me. edit. It's cumulative and while there are ebbs and flows we are still on the incline. Even 4 years.

Our trend line is currently on the incline I agree with that. Point in time we are in a dip, hopefully not a dead cat bounce.

Four years ago in men's basketball Fox had Shabazz playing point guard and no one playing defense.

Yes, now is better.

Trending up - on both. Maybe not as much upward movement as we would like - however, I do believe we are set up to win long term. More for football vs basketball.

I believe our program as a whole in both sports is better than 4 years ago...yes we had a down year in football which happens to literally every college football. Our basketball program has posted...omg...3 winning seasons in a row! something that hasn't been done in over a decade...we went to the big dance...having a down year so far but we will be back

I would hate to play this App Basketball team in the tournament. They have a ton of potential and are very streaky. That is a good combination for one and done tournaments.

Football - The issues that we are judging the football program today started four years ago. So in a way, it is not better, but has the looks of a blip and not a trend.

Basketball- I think it is better. Excitement and interest is building.
I hope you are correct, but fear you must have the rosiest of rose colored glasses. afraid i am not seeing you are seeing.
It’s not about having “rose-colored” glasses. It’s about understanding why this year happened, what caused it, and what is being done to fix it. Do I expect a 9 win season next year? Probably not going to happen. My point is that 6-6 didn’t occur over night. It was years in the making.
If App probably isn't in a position to win 9 games next year then you're answer to the question asked should be NO.
Agreed, I hate our our schedule is built the way it is but with Coastal, Turds and stink all at home this year, we should be able to turn at least 2 of those into wins.

Football 4-6 against FBS opponents, but brand recognition at an all time high. Good coaching changes so far, and I like the recruits we have coming in. Feel like we are trending back upwards

Basketball 4-8 against D1 programs, only 1 win against a top 200 NET ranking opponent (NC Central), and are on a 6 game losing streak vs D1 opponents. Fan attendance and brand recognization has definitely improved for hoops over the last 3 years, but this year might be negating a ton of it. Hard to know if we are trending upward after 3 years of on the court success. Feel like we are near a peak and coming back down to the App hoops we are accustomed to.

There's plenty of argument data of where football is headed from 4 years ago. Doc Watson could see it if he was alive.

Let's say all 3 are wins and call it a day! Why not?

No. Football is so much worse that nothing else matters. Shawn Clark will be a forever stain on our program

In another thread you claim all the players hate him and here he is a "stain". I admit the original post does ask a fair question in regards to recent performance, but your claims come across as very one sided, "axe to grind" type stuff. Just as you have the right as an American to post these comments, I have the right to call them irresponsible and unproductive.

What you call a stain is actually a watermark (of greatness) ...
