Why is that during the last 7 years when we went 11-3, 10-3, 9-4, 11-2, 13-1, 9-3 and 10-4....we got stuck playing MAC and CUSA teams...and we were told nothing could be done because of sun belt bowl agreements.

Then a 6-6 Louisana team gets to play Houston and a coastal fresh off 2 slaughters and an early season loss to Old Dominion gets ECU.

What is happening?
We picked a bad year to be bad.

And Troy gets to play another conference champion which I would have loved during App's 2019 season.

I like to think App's past success has helped the conference get to the level where bowl match-ups are a little better. Hopefully we will get to share in that next year and beyond.

The fact seven SBC teams qualified explains games against teams outside of the MAC and CUSA.

Coastal just named Tim Beck Head coach, great hire, we will see if he HC material.
Most NC State fans are happy he's gone. And he's been fired as OC at every stop. Not sure it's a great hire. Guess we'll see.

We laid the groundwork for some of these matchups. We put the Belt on our back for a few seasons (and LaLa did as well) and now the Belt is getting better bowl arrangements. ECU hasn't been to a bowl in 7 years and has a 7-5,4-4 record. There Simple Rating System rating is 3.41 (57th nationally). Western Kentucky in 2021 (8-5, 7-1) had an SRS at season's end of 8.39 (30th nationally). So, as conference runner-ups you could really say that we drew a better team than Coastal did.

I'd still rather be doing nothing in Montgomery against the Pirates than sitting on the couch all of December.

Even after the whuppin' we took from WKU last year, being one of the teams left out is a bummer. Not going to a bowl sucks..
A poor season by APPs standards and not bowling this seaon is a big shot fired across our bow, our program's greatness wasn't built on .500 seasons over the last 40 years, but built on the 9 to 12 win seasons that have included the succesfull playoffs and winning bowls.

A note to cheer folks up.

What if I told you greatness was built on .500 seasons!

Following a down year or two have led to periods of great success:

1993 - 4-7, 19-3 the next two years in regular season (86%)

1997 - 7-4, 34-10 the next four years in regular season (77%)

2004 - 6-5, 71-13 next six years (85%)

2013 - 4-8 then 7-5 in 2014, 73-17 next seven years (81%)

Last 30 years:

2 losing seasons

14 TEN win seasons

3 NC

6-1 in Bowls

15 Playoff appearances

13 Conference titles

Doubled average attendance and 8x annual Yosef Club donations since 2004.

TIGMA should ring true this offseason.

Coaching consistency is the reason.

This is the same reason that most programs are closer to the bottom than the top.

What will be telling is where Coastal is next season. I believe Coastal's team was all used up by the end of the season. It will be telling to see where they are next season and if they have to vacate any wins.

Best bowl lineup for the Trojans as well, if rankings are considered.

Is this something you have reliable sources on or are you just throwing shade due to Chad's past?
