Very astute observation. Sounds like that could be the case. DeBastiani has coached multiple levels of the defense in his career so it may mean some shuffling of responsibilities are in order.

Not sure how I noticed this, but this morning I saw that Coach Debastiani has changed his Twitter profile to read “Defensive Coach.” I could be wrong, but I believe it used to say “Outside Linebackers Coach.”

If true, this leads me to believe there will be some shuffling around, possibly to accommodate the new DC. Hopefully, we will be getting some info soon on the rest of the defensive staff.

Looks like Gasparato is not an option. Per Football Scoop: "Cincinnati: The program has formally announced the additions of Greg Gasparato (defensive assistant), Josh Stepp (offensive assistant) and Niko Palazeti (head strength and conditioning coach)." Thoughts on bringing back Nate Woody (DC/OLB) and Cortney Braswell (ILB) and move DeBas to D Line?

Didn’t Woody have issues with the players and how he coached them? Or was that someone else? Woody was great I thought and would love to have him back.

Based on criteria for this hire, I would consider Woody and Braswell out as options. Clark needs/wants recruiters and someone with play calling experience. Neither check both boxes. I personally wouldn’t mind either back on the mountain.
