Same.I am paying for their education, the value of which is potentially off the charts.Yes , they work for it , as did I .
Capitalism at its finest *sarcasm*
Comrade?
Not me. I'm all about capitalism. I just find it funny how, as soon as we talk about folks getting paid to play ball, some people start talking about what you "deserve" to earn and what you "should" make.

Great example of NIL gone very bad. Some of this craziness will play out but IMO, kids like this will not be good team players at ANY school. If this is what they are in it for, and I understand they want money, they will never give their all to any school they are playing for. Let's continue to find the players that want to play football and want to come to APP.

NIL is bad. Was a bad idea, is a bad idea, and always will be a bad idea. As we do so many time in this country we did it backwards. If I am a player I don't want someone else making money of of my NIL. The solution is not to pay me but to prevent the schools from making money off of it. Simple solution and you don't end up with a s--- show.

California is always on the cutting edge of doing things wrong, NIL must have it's origins from there?

You think it's NIL that's bad or is NIL just shining a light on a bad practice that's been going on for years. Sometimes a little sunshine is needed to clean things up.

What I think is that they both are bad.

I don't think the issue was players not wanting ANYONE to make money off their name, image or likeness. The issue was that they believe they SHOULD be allowed to. The rationalization was to point at the schools leveraging their NIL to make money for the program. I have no problem with the idea of a player who has promotional value making money, but the way it was done was horrible. The door was thrown wide open with no governance or structure and it has resulted in a pay-for-play arrangement. I do think things will eventually settle down but no idea how long that will be or whether college sports resembles what we all love at that time.

Let’s just call it what it is. Paying a college kid $13M is simply buying him to play for your school. There ain’t no name likeness going on there. Don’t lie to me. I am not that stupid.

There is a happy medium I hope we can find, but where this has led isn’t it.
